64MB Model is a winner!

by jwol3 , Jan 16 '02
Pros: 64MB model - One of the smallest and least expensive
Cons: No backlight, track info, looks cheap
This is the 3rd MP3 player I have bought and it is great. I was considering a Sony but memory sticks are expensive and all files get translated to the ATRAC format.

On the plus side it is the smallest I have seen after the Sony - but it uses...

KAZOO - GREAT LITTLE PLAYER

by jllevy123 , Jul 11 '02
Pros: Compact size, price, ease of use
Cons: Cheesy clear plastic case
I read the reviews here before I made my purchase. First of all, I can't believe people are paying $100 for it, you can buy it at Best Buy for $79.95. The unit feels solid - well as solid as anything the size of a matchbox can feel. The software was...

Pros: Great price, very small, looks nice, sound is great, upgradeable memory

For the last couple months I had been debating on which mp3 player I would buy, if I bought one. After a little research, I came upon a few models in my $100 budget: the Rio One 32MB, the RCA Kazoo 32MB, and two others. However, the RCA takes top honors...

The Kazoo might be right for you!

by mackdaddyjay , Mar 03 '03
Pros: Small and the music can be easily changed with included software.
Cons: Needs a memory card to hold enough music to really satisfy someone.

Cons: The battery life a little short,do not let that surprise you.Technical assistance can be difficult.

Playing through a k@zoo,,,,

by tempus_fugit , Aug 06 '02
Pros: Compact, lightweight, comparatively inexpensive, simple features, USB connectivity, memory upgradeable, wrist/arm mounting for exercise use.
Cons: No firmware upgradeability for recent 128MB MMC card, computer OS compatibility issues, shoddy customer support.
The RD1000 (32MB) k@zoo! is, if nothing else, a good concept (solid-state memory is a good application here). It is delivered in a compact package and is designed for space-savers and on-the-go listeners who do not care to carry more weighty cassette /...

I just bought mine from Circuit City online for $59.99 with a $20 MIR. $39.99 is great price for this small jewel. I use Windows XP and it was a little difficult to get the driver downloaded and figure out how to download music, but once I got the hang of it, it's very, very easy. The sound is very good and I would definately recommend this to anyone. At this price, what can you lose???

by anon._dt3001 ,Feb 10 '03
I got this player June 2002 and I'm very pleased with my purchase. For such a cheap buy it is wonderful. My main problem with this was finding a place that sold a memory card, many places said that they sold them, I'd get there and it would be the wrong size. It is very easy to work, though the instructions are a bit more complicated than they should be. I'd suggest finding a website that can explain operating it instead of the instructions it comes with. It is small enough to fit in my coat's cell phone pocket so I have no problem finding it. The battery life isn't long enough for me but that is easily curable with rechargable batteries. I would reccomend this product if you dont want to spend too much, if you have the money you should go ahead and get one with a bit more memory but this is still a great product. I did not rate the sound because its not the player that determines the quality it is the quality of the mp3 you download.

Don't waste your money on an expensive MP3 Player when you can pay about $50 for the Kazoo; believe me you'll love it except for the fact that you have limited storage for songs and because of the bad battery life.

Not exactly what I expected...
by Katkam1 ,Jul 18 '04
Pros: Great sound quality - light to carry, easy to use.
Cons: Musicmatch software, Shoddy workmanship -
In the beginning, the Kazoo MP3 player was perfect for my needs, that is before the housing in between the area that holds the batteries broke. I bought a 64mg card and it met my needs - this is before it broke. The greatest letdown besides the shoddy workmanship was the Musicmatch software that came with the MP3 player. It was obsolete upon installing, and I was inundated with offers to upgrade...not for downloading music from the website, but to be able to burn cds that I already had software installed which was disabled after I installed Musicmatch.

I was attracted to this unit for the size and and price. 32 MB is just not enough room (I only got 8 songs out of it) and the memory cards are not cheap. You also have to crank the volume all the way up to get a decent sound. I returned it the next day and bought an RCA Lyra RD1070 which has better sound quality, 128 MB of internal memory and is expandable. Only an additional $20.00 for a much better product.

When it finaly did work i downloaded 8 songs. That is all that it let me do. I couldn't believe i spent most of my money for something i could only use for 30 min.
