I love this stereo system. I blast my rock music and the subwoofer if great. I like the nice sound that come out of the speakers. I also use this for video games and movies and it is awsome.

The receiver is rather difficult to set up. Even now 3 years later I am not sure about some of the features. For best results you really need to have it set up correctly.

I found that the front speakers were not that great for playing music from Cd's. I upgraded to a Klipsch center and Energy fronts and have noted a great improvement. I think the Receiver must be better than the speakers.

I am debating about whether to ditch the receiver too but not having anything to compare it to it sounds fine to me.

I think this a receiver that is way better than the speakers it comes with. I thought it had plenty of volume, but one day I decided to buy a separately powered RCA sub. With the new sub I was almost kicked out of my apartment! Speaker upgrades are all anyone needs to see a dramatic change in the quality.

The settings and controls are confusing and it sounds terrible if it is not set up right.

Unfortunately, you can no longer find this new.
Now, this is not for your audiophiles with elevated noses at anything not made with more consonants than you can pronounce.
This was made for someone who knows the value of big clear sound and saving some cash.
700 watts is enough to fill my 2400 sqft house and wake the neighbors too.
Has some really nice sound shaping feature for use with non-surround media (VCR, TV, Cable)
I absolutely love this system, it definitely outlasted my DVD player. I'm a year into the second one now.
I had the cables for the rear speakers installed in the walls during the finishing phase of the house (well worth the money)
I have a 16 x 20 family room, with 19' ceiling, that opens into the kitchen, this thing fills it at moderate volume.
It was a steal and I'd recommend it to anyone not stuck on some high end name.
