Pros: Old World Charm
Cons: closed on Friday nite and Saturdays

Pros: Good food, good rolls. Great Veggie Chopped liver
Cons: No longer Kosher food. Inconsistent service
Ratner's reputation is famous as a traditional Dairy restaurant that was properly Kosher. I grew up in New York and going to Ratner's was always a treat with a great bakery. I returned there recently after 20 years of living outside the Big Apple.

Pros: good food, nice people
Cons: NO LONGER KOSHER
WARNING!!!!!!!! As of a couple of months ago Ratner's lost its certification. According to Kashrus Magazine it is no longer under anyone's supervision.
I would have recommended it if it were Kosher, so in case they get their certification...

Pros: The BEST classic Kosher food!
Cons: They won't be Kosher for long!
Ratner's USED TO be one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. I was a REGULAR of their Sunday morning breakfast crowd, and there was never a bad time to make the trip all the way down to the Lower East Side. Dining at Ratners is part of New York City...
