Pros: Cuts fast - easiest pole saw you'll ever use Cons: A bit heavy fully extended, hard to see around the motor, dragging the cord around
Summary: It's late winter and time to prune the trees again. We have six, very large, mature trees in our yard. Pruning is an annual event and requires a chain saw. I needed a new chain saw because I gave my old chain saw, a Stihl, to the person who broke into my ... read more

Pros: Makes for a quick job and saves a lot of labor. Cons: Requires a fair amount of common sense to use.
Summary: I bought my saw used and have been very well pleased. It has given no trouble and has saved me both money and headaches. I have pruined eight truckloads of limbs over buildings, powerlines, fences, you name it. It is certainly much easier than the manuel ... read more

Pros: Great for those small pruning projects Cons: Too many plastic parts, plus oiling system is suspect.
Summary: This is a great little saw for small, infrequent use. I agree with others that it is a bit end heavy, especially for women. Don't let it catch you by surprise when it cuts through fast because you will lose control. Unless someone needs their hair ... read more

Pros: Light weight, inexpensive, cuts well on larger limbs up to 10" Cons: Hard to manuever on the end of the pole, won't work well on twiggy growth.
Summary: I have a half-acre in La Habra, California, that was full of trees, until I used the pole saw and a larger one to remove most of them.I'm not a professional arborist, and I've found that keeping gas powered motors running is a pain in the ... read more

Pros: Reliable, saw works on and off pole, seems like a good design. Cons: Hand oiler is weak, saw hard to get into limb crotches.
Summary: I have used my Remington pole saw for two years now and have been happy with it. Nothing has ever broken or failed to work and I have used it a lot both on and off the pole. Of course I use a gas saw for bigger more serious firewood cutting. It does ... read more

Pros: Fast-perfect for little jobs around the home. Cons: Polesaw a little heavy for a women...even a strong one.
Summary: First off,.....I am a women who has never even started a chainsaw before. My husband wouldn't let me buy one, so one day behind his back, I went out and got this for myself. After going thru the manual(which is great if you know Spanish)I got the saw ... read more

Pros: Ease of slicing through branches, long reach, quality craftsmanship, can be used chainsaw also. Cons: Way too heavy, kind of pricey, hard to view the position of the chain.
Summary: I have not actually purchased the Remington Electric Pole Chain Saw 104317, but I have been using my uncle's for a few weeks now. We recently purchased a new house, and the trees are in serious need of pruning. Among the trees in my yard are 2 huge ... read more

Pros: Affordable and meets a real urban need for trimming. Cons: Fragile, no parts, no support, requires some strength to control weight on end of pole.
Summary: It BROKE! Not too bad but now the thin plastic piece that attaches the chain saw to the pole has shattered into a dozen pieces. Cutting a limb overhead it was crashing toward my head, which I am quite attached to, and I was struggling to jump out of ... read more

Pros: Super easy assembly, fast cuts, good balance, good design. Cons: Small women might not be able to control it at full extension.
Summary: Forget the bad reviews about how tough it is to put this unit together. At the store, HD, it took me exactly 20 seconds to mount the saw on the bracket. I timed it on my watch. This is NOT rocket science. The clerk told me that the bracket had been ... read more

Pros: Light, Quiet, Cheap. Easy to use, effective. Cons: Inferior quality, poorly designed.
Summary: I got tired of pruning my trees and bushes with conventional pruners and decided to drop 100 bucks on the Remington "chain saw on a stick". I took it out of the box and was pleasantly surprised as the quality looked good and thought I had found the ... read more

Pros: Inexpensive for what it offers a person in yard trimming and light duty wood cutting. Cons: Too much plastic, easy to break telescopic lock ring. Manual needs one language!
Summary: This is not a professional quality tool but I found that it performs well as long as your not too ruff with it. I have cut at least 500 branches anywhere from 1-10 inches with the first two pole saw's I purchased. I am now on my third model. I would li ... read more

Pros: Cuts tree limbs & overgrown branches. Cons: You hover a chainsaw over your head on a six foot pole.
Summary: Hi, hope this helps! I recently bought the Remington Electric Pole
Saw at Home Depot for $99.00. The man at the store actually
advised against it, saying that for "serious" work, the manual one
would be better.

Pros: Great product for the price. Cons: None
Summary: I bought this for home use as an alternative to the traditional manual pole saw. For my application, this item at this price is ideal. This saw probably would not be durable or powerful enough for professional use, but that's not its niche. I use this ... read more

Pros: Saw cut well when the chain wasn't coming off. Cons: Heavy, chain kept coming off.
Summary: I borrowed this saw to use to trim numerous fruit trees on my property. I wasn't sure what to expect - I have used gas chain saws in the past, but never an electric, and never one on a pole.
The first thing that struck me was that the whole ... read more

Pros: It's quieter than a normal chain saw; it cuts well once you get it going. Cons: It's very hard to use; needs constant adjustment; the manual is lousy.
Summary: The pole saw is a three-piece tool: an electric chain saw, an extender pole and a bracket that bolts the chain saw to the pole. For ground-level cutting you can use the chain saw without attaching it to the pole, or you can put it on the pole to cut ... read more

Pros: Good chainsaw with a lot of cutting power for its size. Cons: Poor quality pole and mounting provisions.

Pros: Performs reasonably well considering the price. Cons: Performs like a $100 chain saw on a stick.
Summary: Paid $99.00 for this item at Lowes, but everyone seems to advertise it for this price. It is pretty much exactly what I expected. I have a gas powered, 42cc 16" craftsman chainsaw for "real" cutting work. However, I wasn't very comfortable climbing ... read more

Pros: Obviously I have no pros, and apparently neither does this company. Cons: Poor engineering design and no customer support or service available for this unit.
Summary: Purchased this saw about 3 years ago. Only used the saw a couple of times. Pulled it down this year to trim some tree limbs and the plastic nut used to tighten the pole halves together crumbled to pieces. It was really a flawed design. I called customer
