As far as I am concerned no kitchen is complete without a food saving device. With all food cost on the rise, we need to find ways to keep foods fresher with very little waste. An inexpensive device such as the Reynolds Handi-Vac Vacuum Sealer ...
Pros: A great product that does exactly what it says it is supposed to do. Cons:
If you do not keep this sealer clean, it can leave an awful smell.
I purchased the Handi-Vac about a year ago.I saw it on display at Kroger.Even though I have 2 seal a meal systems, I decided to give this one a try.The reason for that is that my seal a meal is great for sealing items that I will use the ...
Pros: inexpensive, easy to use, protects food, reusable, buy in bulk save money attractive small lightweight Cons: None yet
We already have two relatively large, frustrating vacuum sealers and I leave the room when my hubby tries to use them. But this review is not about them. I saw this little gadget when I was buying "sucky bags" to freeze our recent mess of Perch & ...
Pros: Small, convenient size; reasonable price; performs well. Cons: Limited bag sizes available; battery replacement could get costly with heavy use.
Several years ago, we invested around $150 in a FoodSaver vacuum packing system. The product did a fine job of vacuum sealing food to keep it fresh and prevent freezer burn. While the product worked well and allowed us to preserve frozen or dried foods ...
Pros: It does a great job sealing just about anything. Cons: The cost versus the number of bags.
I have to say this is the best product I've ever brought that's been on clearance at the store. I find myself using it to reseal my cheese and hotdogs in the original packaging and while that is not a big deal for most, for me I'm in food sealing ...
Pros: cheaper than buying real food vaccuum/sealer machine. Cons: need refill bag (not so cheap), not suck the air easily.
I saw that other people have left positive opinion about this product, so I am afraid to tell my negative opinion about this product, but some people may want to know, so I am going to write here. I've seen a food vaccumm (sealer) ...
Pros: Easy to use, fast storage of items Cons: None
You see the machine they are advertising that sucks the air out of bags & cost you $165.00. Take up too much space & the price of the bags also.We were at BJ's and in the plastic bag area for food storage in the freezer. You ...

Pros: Great price, easy to use Cons: It doesnt work, save your money
I've had this for several months, and I finally just threw it out. First problem is that the vacuum seal will not last. Couple of days, maybe a week, then air slowly comes back it, and so does freezer burn. Some of the bags do not work, which is very frustrating. It absolutely will not work if the food is not frozen. I wanted to marinate my teriyaki in it, but found out the hard way that unless the top is elevated, the marinade runs out. All over the refrigerator. I have gone back to the normal freezer bags, and I think they do the same thing.
I've had mine for almost 2 months. First, it's not designed very well. On a small counter you can't stand it up and it will take up space. To get at the batteries is difficult with a tiny and oddly placed screw. The batteries don't last very long and are difficult to replace. It would be nice if this were rechargeable or able to plug and use.
On to how it works. The seals on bags don't last so it's not for long term storage. Finally, after the short time I've owned it, it's died. NOt even 2 months. Then I find the warranty is only for 30 days. Excuse me but I'd rather spend more money on something that will last than constantly replace something. You'll find in the long run it costs less.
All they want you doing is coming back and replacing it. My friend has had his food sealer for 4 years and still working great at $129. Replacing the handi vac every 2 months at $12-13 at walmart over 4 years and be certain the price will increase? You do the math.
Pros: Not many pros. When it worked,it was a victory. Very expensive for this. Cons: Bags cannot be reused. Not all the bags seal. A waste of money
The Reynolds Handi Vac is not as promised. I have not had good results. I thought this seemed like a good idea but I am disappointed. Some bags did not seal and bags that have been used do not seal. It is expensive because it requires so many batteries.I think those bags that sealed have done what they were supposed to do. I consider it unreliable.I will use what I can and continue to use the bags that no longer seal as storage bags, expensive bags.
