Pros: Multi-meal-sized, browning, programmable and attractive. Cons: Tendency for lid edge to chip and mold growth on crockery IF STORED TIGHTLY SHUT.
I bought the Versaware Pro Slow Cooker this spring. It's an impressively attractive slow-cooker and the removable heat-storing crock is a plus when serving on a buffet line. Its programmable feature is a helpful tool for busy people. The crock ...

Pros: Ability to brown meat or saute directly on the stove. Cons: Only lasted two times before the electronics shorted out and almost caught on fire.
Thought this was a great idea since you can cook on stovetop but poor quality. The lid chipped while cooking so the coating got in the food and the controls shorted out and started smoking on second use. When I returned it to store, another one just like it had also just been returned for the coating chipping off.

It's a Winner, best crock ever!
by mixedemotions ,Dec 20 '07
Pros: Does not over cook your food, 30 minute cooking increments, can saute veggies, Cons: The cord is REALLY short!
Love this crock pot!I've been crock pot cooking for over 20 years, non-stop. Been through numerous crocks. This one wins my seal of approval, for best all around! If you knew me as a cook and food critic that I am, you would know this is a good thing! You can saute your veggies on the stove top first, does NOT over cook your food, can set digital timer to cook in 30 min. increments, automatically switches to warm, low & high settings. It's a winner! The only con is, the cord is REALLY short! Hope the folks at Rival can change this! I can live with this though!
