Pros: Fun for an hour or so.
Cons: Too pricey for the little features. Worth $80 or so.

  • A great robot for the price

    Aug 28, 2005 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: A great robot for the price, does better than robots that cost more, excellent support
Cons: Limited programming capacity, no retention, needs a "Random" mode to emulate autonomy.

Summary: A lot of people will spend a lot of time and money to buy a dog and train it to do tricks and obey commands so it behaves just like a robot. It doesn't always work out, as the animal control center in my city is full of unwanted dogs. I say, if you ... read more

  • Incredible technology, but lackluster novelty!

    Jul 21, 2005 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: NASA-based applied biomorphic robotics (human-like movement), fun pre-installed demo modes, batteries last forever, fully programmable.
Cons: Novelty wears off quickly, audio noises (grunts) become annoying, and just got bored with it.

Summary: When I first read about the Robosapien and the new "applied biomorphic robotics" technology that was utilized in its design, I knew I had to have one. When I received it in the mail (ordered from BestBuy.com), I set it up immediately. Robosapien is ... read more

Pros: Curb appeal, seems pretty solid, demo mode works well
Cons: Will never meet your child's expectations, too complex to program multiple moves

Summary: My 5-year-old son got Robosapien for Christmas from a well-meaning grandma who obviously saw an experienced salesman demonstrating the wonders of this expensive toy. Thank heavens for the demo modes, because without them, Robo would make a lovely ... read more

  • Robo-yawn: 30 minutes before the novelty wears off

    Oct 18, 2004 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Fascinating to watch walk around and move, looks like a little ape-man astronaut.
Cons: Gets boring very quickly, difficult to maneuver, can't pick things up, complicated programming isn't fun.

Summary: The Robosapien from Wow Wee is an exciting step forward in robotic toys - the first fully-controllable, sort-of-humanoid robot available to the public at a reasonable price! The trouble is, that's about all that can be said for this thing, which will ... read more
