You won't sound like a rock star, but it's a start

by Signe , Jul 20 '00
Pros: Easily portable, great tone quality for the money
Cons: Somewhat stiff and unbalanced key action, plain Jane features
This piano was entirely an impulse buy for me -- I woke up one morning, decided I NEEDED a digital piano, walked into the store, and bought the cheapest one that I liked.

Not generally the best way to drop $1400. I don't recommend this method....

Best of the Digital Pianos
by sibellaj ,May 13 '07
Pros: The action is most like a real piano. Very few problems with polyphony.
Cons: Not a real piano. But very close.
I bought my Roland HP-126 for $2000 in 2000. And it is still working beautifully! It does not have fancy bells and whistles like the Yamaha, which was the alternative digital piano I looked at in 2000 for $1500, but in the end, I was looking for quality, simplicity, elegance. What I really wanted was a real piano made of wood that didn't need to be plugged in, but I was moving around a lot at the time and did not have funds to have my instrument tuned and vacuumed-- which isn't necessary with a digital. The plus side of this instrument is that it is recorded off a Steinway D concert grand.

Easy to use, sounds GREAT
by snocaps82 ,Jan 10 '04
Pros: Easy to use, sounds great, portable, weighted keys, features about 6 different auto-play songs
Cons: Only 4 voices
This piano is so easy to use, the keys feel and look like -those of a real piano, and the built-in stereo speakers sound fantastic. This piano was given to me, and I hear that the original retail price was $1400. Although the model is older, I definetly recommend it for those that want to just play a nice, portable, digital piano. More voices would be nice. This model features piano, electric piano, pipe organ, and harpsichord. I am hoping to take advantage of the midi features of this piano and would like any comments from those that have used them.
