  • It's a Hit or Miss With This Ski

    Jan 12, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: All-Mountain Ski
Cons: That's all it is. Nothing Spectacular

Summary: I think the Bandit X is an ski for the more advanced intermediate skier. One hot Chili states the facts about the ski. Ski Magazine rated it last year as the best all-terrain/ mountain ski. That is the truth. It could do anything I asked it to do. The ... read more

  • All mountain yes, but vanilla.

    Jan 11, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Reasonable all-around performance in an approachable package
Cons: Don't push this ski too far...

Summary: The Bandit X is the slimmest of the Rossi's top-end freeride offerings. Rossi states that it's designed for someone that spends 70% of their time on-piste and 30% off-piste. After having ridden them in a variety of conditions for a number of ... read more

  • What a difference

    Jun 4, 2001 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Carve like crazy, narrow enough to swing through bumps
Cons: Not really wide enough for deep powder, probably too soft for bigger skiers

Summary: First, let me give you my qualifications: I have been skiing for about 10 years and can ski anything. I'm not Warren Miller quality or anything, but I lived in Colorado for 2 years and it really made me a better skier. I used to ski on a old ... read more

  • A 'Do Anything' Ski that Lacks Zip

    Dec 22, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Quick and easy turns, lightweight, they are Rossignol's.
Cons: Very soft, unstable at speed, not very lively.

Summary: I have skied several days on my new Rossignol Bandit X. Like many others here I purchased these skis based upon the reviews I read of them. My overall experience has been a positive one, although these are not a good fit for me. Here are my thoughts on ... read more

  • The skis that do it all

    Nov 16, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Stable in all conditions
Cons: Price is a little high

Summary: The Rossignol Bandit X's are the best skis I have ever skied. They will handle everything that a mountain of snow could throw at you. The Bandit's cut through hard pack and ice like a knife through hot butter. The annoying chatter you get on ice ... read more

  • Good Enough For Warren Miller Stars...

    Mar 22, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: excellent all around
    Cons: cost

Summary: I don't know if you've seen the newest Warren Miller movie "50" but if you have, you will note that half of the skiers all used the Bandit series. While I don't have personal experience with the X, XX, or XXX, I have been skiing regular ... read more

  • AWESOME SKIES!!!!!!

  • Bandit Xtremely good

    Feb 8, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: great versatility and speed
Cons: a lot of work to use

Summary: I am a knight charging down the slopes and my bandits are my noble steeds. They are solid, but not stuborn, agile, but not squirrely, and they can go as fast as I want them. I used to race, and have skied many of "the hot new race skis." I ... read more

  • Who Was This Ski Made For

    Jan 12, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Great for the lightest of skiers
Cons: Too flexible, unstable tips and tails, not enough stability at high speeds or on high terrain.

Summary: When designing a ski, manufacturers need to understand at the higher levels of skiing, there is no need for softer skis for women. As a woman, I have been recommended to L or W skis which were supposedly made for me. True? False? Uhh....FALSE. The Lady ... read more

  • Slice the hill to bleeding shreds

    Jan 11, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Everything- handling, weight, response, not too stiff, not too hard.
Cons: Tribal artwork on actual ski- makes it look like the plank for Gen Xers.

Summary: These skis are mean little destroyers of snow. I am biased in that I have almost always been a Rossignol skier. Throughout the last 20 years, I learned to ski, and continued to charge downhill solely on Rozzys, with the exceptions of a pair ... read more

  • Good and Bad Bandit X

    Oct 28, 1999 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: 'OK' All-Conditions Ski
    Cons: Does Nothing Really Well

Summary: When these skis were introduced over a year and a half ago, I demoed a pair and was sold. Growing up ski racing with Rossignol, I have always been somewhat biased towards their skis, so after skiing these I knew I had to get a pair. Since ... read more

  • Bandit X does it all

    Feb 14, 2005 by
    Rated Show
Pros: provides an excellent ski across multiple terrain conditions. Runs well with speeds in GS applications.
Cons: side cut is geared toward a GS ski. XX & XXX better for short radius.

Summary: I've been skiing and racing Rossignol for 32 years, and this is likely the most versatile ski I've been on. Not too spineless at speeds and able to handle the bumps. Really deep powder is the only terrain I haven't had them in. They carve a nice turn ... read more

  • Bandit B1 - I like it

    Mar 1, 2004 by
    Rated Show
Pros: Easy to use, nice looking
    Cons: none

Summary: I bought some Rossignol Bandit B1's this 03/04 season. They are the new version of the X's. I live about 20 km from the Rossi factory, so I figured I would buy local. I tested several lines of Rossi skis (Rebel and Axium), but I liked the overall ... read more

  • Good value

    Dec 18, 2003 by
    Rated Show
Pros: Easy to learn on because they turn easily. Good price.
    Cons: none

Summary: I picked up a pair of 177cm 2001 Rossignol Bandit X for only $200. I am just starting out, and have found these to be a lot easy to turn than the rental ones. I'm not an accomplished skier, so I can't evaluate this in other areas. These skis flex very ... read more
