Pros: Vertical steaming, anti-drip, glides over fabric, uses tap water Cons: Pricey, heavy, some people who sew might not like auto shut-off feature
Not only do I need a good iron for ironing my clothes, but I also do a lot of sewing which requires me to iron extensively. I had an old cheapy iron for years and years because I just could never justify spending the $100 on the Rowenta that I really ...
Pros: Largest water reservoir; Huge amounts of steam; Glides over fabrics getting toughest wrinkles out. Cons: Leaks water and spits after 3 months. Not worth the price!
This Rowenta does iron like a dream and produces tons of steam--for only 3 months. I purchased this iron on January 27, 2009 and I had to replace it today, April 26, 2009! I purchased this iron because I do love Rowenta irons. They iron out ...
Pros: Polished stainless soleplate, plenty of steam, solid feel, even mist spray Cons: None so far
I put this iron on my wedding registry, figuring an upgrade from an old Sunbeam would be nice. Let me tell you, it actually makes me a more efficient ironer. The first thing I noticed about this professional series Rowenta was the polished stainless ...
Pros: Reasonably priced, professional quality product. Cons: Temperature dial is sticky.
As a professional seamstress on a limited budget I was thrilled to find this wonderful iron. With the efficiency of a butler this iron accomplishes what ever you ask it to do. With a setting for cleaning that keeps you from getting something unexpected ...
One Hundred Dollars for Two Years of Service! by lafn63 ,Jul 09 '07
Pros: Great job when it works. Cons: Quality of the appliance itself is poor.
I was so excited about how well this iron worked until, ALMOST two years later, it wouldn't work. I'm sorry, for the price, I should get much more use than that. I just bought a $30 Black and Decker with a $20 rebate to use until I can get this Rowenta jewel repaired. I have read other negative reviews about the reliability of Rowenta Irons. My suggestion would be to buy it at Costco where you can return it rather than spend money on repairs!
Pros: great looking Cons: too angry, read comment field
This is the second rowenta iron I have had. Like the first one, the automatic shut off stinks. It keeps turning itself off and won't come back on. I must unplug it and let it cool off. I cannot get thru one pair of pants before this happens. It is 2 weeks old and happened on day one. Never again.
Pros: When it worked, it did a good job. Good steam and plenty of it. Cons: Automatic shut off will no longer turn on!
I bought a Rowenta because I thought it was The Best. Well, it was fine for about two years of MINIMUM use. Then, one day...poof! Its automatic shutoff has shut off for good. Now what? Send it off for repairs? With the amount of time I spend ironing (nil), I should just go buy a $20 cheapie. I'm SO disappointed!
Pros: Fantastic steamer when it works - even if only a few months. Cons: Breaks down quickly and repairs are worthless.
This is my second - and last - Rowenta Professional! Because I am a quilter I use my iron constantly and thoroughly enjoyed all of the features including the steam. Unfortunately, this lasted for about 6 months. Then I could get steam only for about a minute after turning it on; after that I had to use the cleaning feature to get it to steam at all.
Because it was less than one year old, I returned it for repairs. Now I receive a letter outlining possible solutions; repairs will cost a few dollars less than buying a new one. Why would I do that? Guess I will buy moderately priced irons and toss when they break down.
The iron was originally purchased at Costco; I wish I had known that I could return it to them for a refund and not wasted money sending it to the repair service.
This is the second Rowenta Professional that has had the steam feature break down. It is definately the last Rowenta I will own.
Pros: Steam is superior, unmatched to any other iron Cons: Unreliable, auto shut off stinks!
This is the first and last Rowenta iron I will buy. Mine lasted 2 years w/average use. Now, after 10 seconds of use, the auto shut-off engages. The only way to reset the auto shut off is to unplug it and plug it back in. Of course, you're are doing this every 10 sec. Stay away from these irons if you are expecting more than 2 yrs of use.
Water leaked after a year by kellysquare ,Jul 11 '09
Pros: Gets really hot; good auto shut off feature; big water well. Cons: Leaked after the warranty over - Rowenta said too bad! My daughter-in-law has same issue.
Bought this iron on a referral was told it was the best. Not true, not worth the $$. Rowenta won't fix it after 1 year warranty.
