Pros: The attachments make easy clean-up on many surfaces Cons: Makes for a bad hair day
Recently purchased this steamer hoping it was all they said it would be. I am not disappointed. This machine does everything, including windows! Because it's such a recent purchase, I've only used it twice, but both times was thrilled with the results. ...
Pros: Makes a good lint brush Cons: Runs out of water, doesn't get out wrinkles
If there are lots of wrinkles in your outfit this machine will run out of water before you are done. On the other hand, if there are only a couple of wrinkles it isn’t worth the effort. Overall it is a waste of time.
Pros: Heats quickly, has great steam power and speed Cons: hard to fill and assemble
Once you know how to put it together and fill it with water, you'll be very pleased with the Rowenta steam brush. I keep mine in my walk-in closet so it's ready to attack rumpled clothing I want to wear, but I'm too lazy to iron.
Pros: no burns from hot metal, no shiny linen Cons: doesn't steam well, hard to get apart to fill with water
Since I always seem to burn myself ironing, I decided to try a steamer instead. I envisioned removing wrinkles with a few swipes of the steambrush across the fabric, and moving on with my busy life. Not so.
Pros: Heats quickly, great for travel, hassle-free Cons: Not as effective as an iron, runs out of water quickly, scorched fingers
I purchased this product while in school so that I could quickly get rid of wrinkles and save on cleaning bills. While I didn't spend that much for the steam brush, it is not as effective as a REAL iron.
Pros: Works. Fast. Cons: Delicate. Not user friendly.
Rowenta Steam Brush
I remember the first steamer I had. It drizzled a trickle of steam after warming up for 10 minutes. If you rubbed really hard against your clothes it got one wrinkle out, but you had to pray really hard.
Makes a better vacuum because it sucks! by consumercritic ,Jan 04 '04
Pros: It is small and would probably make a very good travel iron. Cons: Everything else.
My wife has been trying to replace an old travel steamer that she lost the cord for. That steamer worked fantastic, although you had to add salt.
I bought this as a gift for her after the clerk assured me it would work very well. We tried it at home a couple of weeks later. The instructions say you have to press a button about five times to prime the unit. We had to push it about fifteen times to finally get it primed.
Once the unit was working we were very disappointed with the amount of steam it would produce. It gave out about five seconds of steam, and then you would have to wait for about four or five seconds for it to re-generate enough steam to use again.
Even so, we tried it on a very light and thin table-cloth that had fold marks in it. The steamer removed some of the light wrinkles, but didn't do anything with the fold marks.
Back to the store for this unit. Does anybody know of an effective travel steamer still on the market?
