Pros: Cheap, wide selection, great quality, convenient location Cons: If you are expecting quiet serenity this is not the place for you
Each trip I take to Atlanta I make the effort to goto one of the Ru-San's restaurants. There are now six of them. This is the original at 1529 Piedmont Ave NE (at Monroe) which was only an $8 cab trip for three from our downtown hotel (Hyatt Regency). (I ...
RuSans is an Americanized Japanese restaurant local to mainly the Atlanta area and one or two locations in Charlotte and Nashville. There are some super cheap items on the menu, and it tries to be a fun place to eat, hence it is crowded on the weekends. ...
Pros: consistently great sushi, a consistently good time Cons: often crowded, not a place to linger--but sometimes you don't want to linger
Ahh...Ru San's. My first sushi experience in Atlanta, and still my old standby. Went there last night, as a matter of fact; after some dithering with Significant Other about what we wanted and where to go, we decided to hit Ansley and eat some...
Pros: good food, cheap Cons: sometimes you can get an inattentive waiter
I lived in Atlanta for 4 years and now that I am gone, I actually miss Ru Sans! We went at least once a week for all of those years. Not only is the food good there, but the staff at Ru Sans make it fun too. They have a huge menu of sushi, along with...
Pros: Great fun. Cons: Loud for those who don't like loud.
The location is great right in Midtown with easy parking.
Pretty big for a Japanese restaurant it does not have the cooking at your table pseudo-Japanese theatre. Instead great Sushi and a lot of fun. Reasonably priced you almost can go wrong...
Pros: Clean place. Crowd atmosphere. Cons: Bad sushi
The place is clean and the decor is nice and the atmosphere is crowded. The menu is very large indeed with nearly every combination of meat and vegetable roll. But what really counts in the end is the freshness of the sushi. And unfortunately, it isn't...
Pros: none for this location Cons: bad service/awful employee/greeter/I did not even want to eat there.
I went to the Ru San's on Windy Hill Rd in Cobb County last weekend. I was greeted by the hostess and told her I wanted a to-go order. She gave me a regular sized menu and I sat down in the waiting area by the front doors. The hostess then sat down ...
Pros: loud techno music, cheap, large selection, and a younger crowd. Cons: loud techno music, mediocre food, and an inattentive wait staff.
If you're a 22 year old college student looking for a great atmosphere and cheap food, then Ru Sans is the place. If you're looking for a quiet dining experience and have a more refined palate then you had better look elsewhere. As others before me have said, "Ru Sans is the McDonald's of sushi." I find this statement somewhat accurate. It's fast, cheap, and not of the best quality. However, it remains one of my favorite places to eat. I personally enjoy the food and loud techno music. Their menu is large and has something to offer every patron. I have never had rude service although the wait staff can seem a little inattentive. And your order never arrives all at once. But like I said before, I keep going back. My overall recommendation is that if you're over 35 or have kids, I wouldn't bother but if you're looking for a fun place with fast, cheap food then Ru Sans is the place for you.
Fresh, Reasonable, Tasty, and Fast by lususnaturae7x ,Apr 04 '06
Pros: prices, taste Cons: they try to make you give a speech if its your birthday
Ru Sans is a great restaurant with moderately priced food that is usually very fresh and delicious. They also have a massive menu that can make anyone happy, especially if you like sushi or other sea food. They also have a few tasty vegetarian options. I've tried several dishes as well as several types of sushi and have never been disappointed.
I highly recommend trying Ru Sans out. It won't burn a hole in your pocket either, unless you drink large quantities of alcoholic beverages.
Good Food ! Horrible Service! by katie557 ,Mar 09 '07
Pros: Great Sushi! Cons: Bad Service! Don't take large groups!
Great food, Horrible service!!!!!!!!! And I do mean horrible. I and a group of six people visited Rusan's for my little sisters 21st birthday. All of our meals came out at different times. And when I say different I mean extremely different! One of the girls got her meal five minutes prior to us leaving. Everyone had already finished so she had to box it up. The server walked off in the middle of taking our order. It took us notifying two other servers to get even our drink order completed. When we asked for a manager one of the cooks unbelievably said he was. I still do not know if was or not! When we told him about our problem all he would say is you eat you pay. We told him we were not trying not to pay because the food was good, but all he kept saying is you eat you pay. I have never been treated so badly by a restaraunt or a restaraunt manager. Usually most managers have some type of professionalism about them but he didn't! I would not recommend the restaraunt ecspecially if you are in a large group!
Pros: Very cheap, very good food. Very fun atmosphere. Cons: Kamachee sauce is gross, long wait with a big party, and a hard-to-read menu.
There is nothing more awesome to a college student than affordable sushi. Ru San's has that. I'm a happy camper. Recommended: boiled endemame, fried spinach, and mozerella tempura roll. Order a round of sake bombs for an especially good time.
