by dlstewart dlstewart is a Lead on Epinions in Home and Garden, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, May 11 '04
Pros: durable shed, vented gables, lots of storage space, lock hasp for security, good assembly instructions
Cons: assembly can be tricky -- ideally a two-person construction job -- lock hasp
My brother purchased the Rubbermaid Big Max Shed for his yard. Being the nosey sister that I am ... I had to know every detail of his project. When I finally saw the shed in person, I stared at it in shock. This is one nice shed! Buying ...

by MississippiMom Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 05 '05
Pros: Weather resistant, very durable, plenty of Storage Room.
Cons: Assembly takes time, Ground Must be Level
Rubbermaid Big Max Storage Shed was an excellent choice for my gardening needs. I needed a Storage Shed that could store all my Gardening tools and accessories, most of all, could hold up in all sorts of weather. As you know I live in Buffalo ...

Big, Tough and Sturdy

by jccoun , May 28 '04
Pros: So big you can rent it out, solid, leak proof.
Cons: No frills appearance, doesn't come with shelves.
I've had a previous less-than-satisfactory experience with a garden storage shed. When I sold my house last year, I gladly left my old storage shed behind. It was the metal variety, sat on a wooden pallet and was approximately 6 feet by 4 feet. As a ...

Great shed, with some limitations!

by ronnie44 , Jan 08 '05
Pros: Assemble it and forget it. No maintenance required.
Cons: Needs to be strapped down to protect it from high winds.
I purchased my Rubbermaid Big Max shed at Home Depot, which, as I understand it, is the only place that it is available. This shed is so large that you will need either a pickup truck, or a trailer to bring the boxes home. I have a big back ...

Love the shed but wish there were more accessories

by gaines , Aug 19 '06
Pros: Wont rust or rot Optional 2"x6" boards allow for overhead storage
Cons: Expensive accessories Ground must be absolutely level No locks on doors
We purchased the Big Max Ultra (6'9" x 10'3" x 7'8") at Home Depot yesterday and the three of us had it built before the day was out (under three hours). Luckily, we used to have an above ground pool so there was an area of our yard that was already ...

Big Max - good investment

by hanksmith , May 30 '06
Pros: Easy assembly, maintenance free, works as described.
Cons: Level property should be stressed.
I purchased the Big Max last weekend and put it up this past Saturday with the assistance of my father-in-law. Pre-planning: Prior to purchasing the Big Max I read the assembly manual available at www.rubbermaid.com. From that it gave me the area ...

Easy assembly, roof tricky

by nestofc , May 30 '06
Pros: Relatively inexpensive compared to other options, mostly easy to assemble
Cons: Tricky roof installation, I wish the instructions were printed with larger type
Sheila, read down for a hint on the roof... My wife and I did this in about 3 hours total - including leveling the site. The two boxes just barely fit in my Suburban (had to remove the spare tire to squeeze it in. A few feet was hanging out the ...

Installing A Big Max Shed - You Can Do It!

by d_huynh , Jul 10 '06
Pros: Decent-looking shed, (relatively) easy to assemble. Well-written assembly instructions.
Cons: Left door is hopelessly crooked when opened. Flimsy and warp-prone roof panels.
At first I thought about having the Big Max delivered to my place, but after finding out that shipping cost is $175, I decided to go to a Home Depot 5 miles away and bring the shed home myself. This Home Depot has a truck for rent at the rate of $19 ...

AWFUL Instructions - Nice Shed

by blake777 , Apr 11 '07
Pros: Great once assembled - Nice looking Shed
Cons: Warped Panels, Very very bad instructions, Awful roof design.
Ok, first off after the extremely aggravating assembly, I really like the shed (more on that later). That said... I give it only 2 of 5 stars because the assembly instructions were SO bad that we had to just disregard them to get the roof finished... My ...

Good Value Shed...

by shedman12 , Nov 14 '07
Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Purchased it for $550 and Home Depot charged $65 for delivery, it was necessary as the two banded boxes are very heavy and impractical to even if you own a van. There were not too many pieces and each was relatively light individually. I put this shed ...

Good Shed-Bad Home Depot

by mnmn , Apr 30 '06
Pros: Good size, good price, easy to assemble, looks good.
Cons: Dealing with Home Depot (nightmare!), lack of accessories that are advertised.
After a year of searching for the perfect shed at the perfect price, I found the Big Max at Home Depot. It helped that a Home Depot was recently built 1.5 miles from my house! I pre paid for the shed April 9th. Home Depot said it was to be on a ...

Great Shed, if you have a foundation and no wind.

by skisaxx , Oct 08 '05
Pros: Looks great with a great price if you don't live where there is high winds.

A Really Nice Shed

by snagsteam , Jun 28 '04
Pros: A really nice shed - good looking, rot resistant and sturdy.
Cons: The roof WAS TRICKY to install and assembly took MUCH longer than suggested.
We live on Long Island where there is a LOT of dampness. The Rubber Maid BIG MAX Shed seemed like the perfect answer to issues like rot, mold and termites. We purchased the RUBBER MAID BIG MAX Shed at the Home Depot to replace an older, slightly ...

Big Max Tips

by lissarue , Apr 24 '06
Pros: Easy to assemble compared to others, fairly durable, a decent look, and low maintenance
Cons: Directions lack stressing the importance or guidance for a good level site before shed assembly.
Overall a stress free event from purchase to the end product. Of course there are a few things I learned that may be worth your reading time. The down side is this shed is more expensive than metal sheds. Depending upon your needs it is well worth it. ...

pain in the behind

by sheeluhh , Dec 30 '04
Pros: nice looking shed, very roomy, sturdy once completed.
Cons: a pain to put together and it has a plastic lock latch.
This big max shed is certainly handsome. And it IS as roomy as Rubbermaid claims. But it is a royal pain in the behind when it comes to the assembly. It took 6 hours and a combination of 3 people to assemble this, and these 3 folks are more than handy ...
