My family and I have lived on Grand Cayman for almost a year now. Rum Point is an "ok" place to go. It's best feature is that you have shade as well as a bar/grill close by. However, it takes a long time to get there if you're around the most common parts of the island and they've stopped sending regular boat trips there so it's by car only. Basically it's just a beach like anywhere else just takes a long time to get there and if you have a 1.5 year old it seems to take even longer.

Cons: Wish we could stay longer

I recently stayed at the Tortuga Kai condo in the Kaibo Yacht Club phase II. It was fantastic! The infinity pool is awesome and the bar and restaurant are only a hop skip and a jump away! The food was fantastic. For a little variety we walked up to Rum Point Beach- Incredible! This beach is beautiful. We dove Sting Ray City also- excellent. We will certainly return again. The company we booked the condo with was stayincayman.com. They were very accommodating and the condo was beautiful. It was pretty first class. Heck, these people actually put Ethan Allen furniture into a rental condo! It was a great vacation.
