Ultralights vs. Nice & Lights

by Thomcat_V , Feb 11 '02
Pros: Solid in every way
Cons: outdated video card
As a preface to this review, I prefer ultralight laptops (4 pounds and under) and so have significant experience with Thinkpad 560s, Omnibook 900s and Sojourns, and Toshiba Porteges [most reviews available on epinions of course]. This is my first foray...

Pros: Speed, Quiet operation
Cons: Speaker location, antiquated Crystal sound chip and antiquated video.
This was my first laptop purchase. With that said, I did plenty of researching and came across a really good deal on this IBM 600e from half.com I have to say I’m very impressed with the unit so far, there have been some problems when the unit arrived...

Thinkpad 600E is a good performer

by mchan , May 08 '01
Pros: Relatively fast for a P-II 366, 13.3" screen, lots of accessories available.
Cons: Expensive, bulky, Hot/Warm-swap feature does Not work!, weak battery life, Terrible built-in modem!
Hi.

Needed a new laptop because my old Hitachi P-100 is really slow and needed a tax deduction =:)

Although I lost a bid at eBay for a similar model, the seller had many available so I bought one directly from him albeit...

A Good Choice

by lesleyl , Jul 24 '01
Pros: Full-size keyboard, Very thin, Good quality
Cons: Customer service, Modem/Processing speed
I bought my Thinkpad 600E about 2 years ago. They were retailing for about $3500, but I found a good deal on Ebay for $2000 from a software tester who ran a test once, so the product was still under full three-year warranty. When I first got it, I had...

Solid Performer

by houstontexas , Mar 07 '01
Pros: Small size, large screen size
Cons: Weight, no drive hot swapping, track point drift
I have an IBM Thinkpad 600E at work. This laptop has a full-sized keyboard, large, bright screen and plenty of power, but is still quite heavy. With a weight of nearly 6 pounds, you'd better have a strong arm to carry it around. It is built very...

True Road Warrior

by phred7 , Aug 11 '01
Pros: Durable, long battrey life, nice screen, easy typing
Cons: Cursor drift
This baby has seen plenty of action and keeps chugging along. I'm in the military and have been using this machine for last year (i'm typing on it now). All in all I am very happy.

The screen is brite and big, no complaints. The keyboard is...
