Priced as a high-end ink jet printer, the Canon BJC 7004 Photo costed $499 at time of my purchase (cira 2000). With a resolution of 1200x600, one would hope for photo-quality printouts. And it did not dissapoint!
Pros: Great photo quality, easy to use and maintain Cons: ink cartridges are not too cheap but filling them myself solved that...
I bought this printer to print photos, it is a great printer providing exceptional photo quality - I am a canon fan so I never really looked at other brands, with the quality this provided I wasn't too worried... seems to be a lower resolution printer by todays standards but with the technology used it provided picture sharpness beyond printers with 2 or 3 times the resolution. I also bought the printer because of its ability to handle thicker paper (up to 550 gsm) The print quality I think compares very well to High End B/W Lasers and Mid-level Color Laser printers
Wonderful printer in general! by skinnybiker ,Nov 28 '03
Pros: Quality of prints, ease of use Cons: Slow, large machine, $$$ for NEW ink tanks, refill yourself!
Prints amazing photos, 8x10's look like they came from the photo store, but the ink tanks are quite expensive, refill them and it is cheaper. Slow, but if there is no rush, well worth the wait for pics. Great for regular text printing too! A lot of money "new" but now that it is an older printer, well worth it! A+++
