Pros: great bass, sound quality and look. Cons: not very portable.
I purchased these recently to put with my other armada of speakers that i had purchased from a while back. I have a sub and 2 speaker set from altec lansing, and a surround sound set with 9 speakers and a subwoofer. I plugged these into my sound card...
Pros: Outstanding sound quality! Unbeatable value. Separate bass & treble, on/off volume controls on the satellite. Cons: Color may not match your PC... Are you entering your PC in a fashion show??
Before buying this system, I listened to at least a dozen other speakers for less than $100 (includi ...
Pros: This is a sreaming product Cons: ATP3 isn't surround; upgrade to 5
Well I don't own the ATP 3 but I do own the 5's. It is crystal clear sound. Fully expressing the effects of anything it plays even the stuff I download over the net. These speakers allow great effect for movies as well for songs, giving good turnout to...
Pros: Beautiful Look, Style and Sound Cons: No they're not 5 Surround Sound Speakers
What can I say? There is an old epinion I wrote when I first started writing epinions about how great my Boston Acoustics were. They have since passed on and I had a terrible need for speakers a couple of months back so I took the dive, and luckily I...
Pros: Crisp and classy sound. Lots of bass for such thin satellites. Cons: Not good for super-blasting i.e. heavy metal, hardcore rap.
These are the first amplified pc speakers that I have ever purchased and I am very pleased with them. The bass has plenty of "oomph" and the sound is very clear no matter if you're playing a tape, CD, MD, DVD, etc. I love watching DVD's with these...
Pros: Rich sound, great bass, cheap price. Pumps out good volume. Cons: Not surround or 5.1, treble is somewhat tinny.
The Altec Lansing ATP3 speaker system provides very good powered sound output for an unbeatable price. This product will do very nicely for gaming and listening to MP3. These speakers sound more rich and full, in my opinion, than speakers that cost...
Pros: Makes your computer sound threatening:) Cons: Can't think of any . . .
I don't know much about subwoofers. I figured I didn't need them, that's what I have a home stereo for. But my home stereo bit the bullet, and I listen to MP3's so much nowadays that I figured I'd look into getting some better speakers for my computer....
Pros: Convenient bass/volume/treble controls, great sound, slim design Cons: Subwoofer is bulky
The Altec Lansing ATP3 (3 piece speaker system) is a great buy. Out of all the computer speaker systems I have tested this sounded the best by a longshot. Quality sound and thumping bass made this my top pick for computer speaker systems. Priced modera ...
Pros: Clean highs & super bass! Keeps going and going and going... Cons: No headphone jack. No remote control. Volume knob has become sticky.
With these babies you can forget about wasting money on a stereo for your room as well as space on your desk. Yup, they're that good! And yes, they're that slim. In fact, that was one of the reasons that I chose them for my computer system. I was faced...
Pros: Great sound, low price, very stylish design.
Separate bass, treble & volume controls Cons: None
I can't imagine that you will find a better sounding satellite system for the price of this system. Since I was burned a couple of times on systems costing twice as much I thought I would give these a shot for around $60 based on the great reviews these...
Pros: Volume Bass and Treble Controls, Very stylish look, Great mids and highs, Great deal! Cons: Lacks Clean Bass, "Volume Knob problem", Not enough power, Downfiring mids
When it comes to the Altec Lansing ATP3, I’ve been left with some rather mixed emotions. First thin ...
Pros: Compact, smart design. Incredibly easy installation. Superior sound. Cons: Lack of headphone jack.
Recently, I was in the market for a decent set of computer speakers for my new home office. Naturally, I visited epinions.com and quickly learned that this set of moderately priced speakers seemed highly rated. I took a chance, purchasing the ATP 3...
Pros: Comparible to $150 to $200 systems. I know because I own them! Cons: Sub is a little awkward in size.
I bought the ATP-3 system after evaluating over 10 different systems. When I bought them money wasn't an object. I could have paid $200 for a set. I compared them against creative labs among others. Some of the other considerations were in the $150...
Pros: Excellent controls for adjusting sound. Clarity that can't be matched. Cons: There really isn't any that I can think of.
These things are cool. I bought the ATP 5's in Jan. 2001 and have been in love with them ever since. This is a 5.1 surround sound system for you computer. It works with both Mac and Windows based systems. The woofer hits out a nice 45 watts and...
Pros: excellent sound... I would certainly have paid more for this quality! Cons: no cons
Since it was difficult to find any buying advice for Mac users regarding these speakers, I was concerned about Mac compatibility. The box in the store said Mac compatible, yet all the pricewatching sites said PC only, and the manufacturer's website said ...
Pros: Excellent sound. Subwoofer is tight and clean. Easy setup. Low cost. Cons: Only a single input.
These speakers are great! I did a lot of research into speakers and was willing to purchase $100+ speakers for the right sound. I was a little worried about spending less than $60 for speakers, but from all the reviews I found, these speakers were as...
Pros: Great sound, small, great controls, and cheap for what you are getting Cons: other then only having one color, none
I have been using my old speakers that came with my old Dell computer which I bought in 1999. After hearing a lot of distortion and not getting high quality sound, I decided to purchase speakers. I went to Circuit City and using there open display...
Pros: Sleek Design, speakers are very compact, nice sound Cons: No headphone jack, sub is rather large
I bought these speakers to go along with a new HP computer i purchased about a month ago. It comes with speakers already, but i knew that they weren't a great pair. I decided to get the ATP3's because many people suggested them, and Altec Lansing has a...
Pros: Amazing sound, better than the more expensive systems. Cons: No headphone jack.
These speakers are better than those more complex and more expensive systems. I had a gift card for way more than these cost but still wanted these. The full sound is amazing. I was surprised just how much better these 3 speakers were than the larger...
I'll be honest and say that for me speakers are used in conjunction with my computer not to listen to music, but to play games. I am not a stereophile, nor do I play one on TV, so I can't tell you about all the wavelength specs and such for this speaker...
Pros: Rich lows and crisp highs. Very stylish design. Great performance at a very reasonable price. Cons: More wires to add to the tangle behind the PC. No headphone jack.
Computer speakers have come as far along in the last 10 years as any other component in the typical PC, so when I stumbled across the ATP3 system, I figured it was about time to upgrade. I don't play games on my PC, nor do I routinely watch movies, but ...
Pros: Look awesome! Sound awesome! Don't take up much space. Cons: The volume knob is kind of hard to turn.
I researched speakers for about 4 weeks and after reading all the rave reviews about these speakers, I decided to check them out. I went to a local CompUSA where they had them on display with other speakers and compared them myself to other speakers in...
Pros: Beautiful Quality, Excellent Look, Rich, Full, Vibrant Sound Cons: Cords could be longer
Altec Lansing is a brand name that I've grown to love. The ATP3 speakers I ordered looked simply appealing. I generally never tend to judge a book by its cover, but these speakers emit a rich, full and bass filled sound that shakes and rattles my office....
Pros: Great sound for the price Cons: Haven't thought of any yet
Was doing a lot of MP3 work lately and had my old Generic Stereo pair cranked up a bit. They're large 2-way units that are now about 5 years old and I noticed a bit of a crackle out of one of them so I decided it was time to upgrade.
Pros: Beyond the cube styling, good sound for the price, convenient bass and treble controls Cons: A little over-dominant on the bass, could be crisper, no headphone jack

Pros: Good sound with deep bass. Cons: Could be pricey for consumers who just want to hear sound.
Boom! A bomb has detonated in the elevator in the movie speed. I nearly have jumped out of my seat for I have set the volume too high. Altec Lansing’s 3 piece speaker set have impressed me. The 3 piece speaker is Bose at over ten times cheaper. Yet...
Pros: Great sound from these three speakers. Cons: The highs get distorted if too loud.
I like these speakers a lot. The sound is really great coming from 3 speakers. I have hear 5 speaker sound systems that don't even come close to this. The 2 tower speakers give off great highs. The bass and treble are adjustable and the adjust knobs are...
Pros: Great sound quality and bass Cons: No headphone input
I picked up my speakers at a local electronics store because they sounded the best of all the speakers I had tested and they weren't quite as expensive as some of the others either.
Pros: Treble and Bass control Cons: No headphone jack
The Altec Lansing ATP 3 speaker system is probably the best set-up in its price range. The satellites provide nice, clean sound while the sub provides adequate thump. I am somewhat disappointed with the downward facing drivers on the satellites....
Pros: Clear sound; Full if not foundation-shaking bass; Relatively inexpensive Cons: Hiss at high treble; Bass could be deeper
Just wanted to put my 2 cents in here: some of these reviews are quite old. This system can now be had for around $50 new, which makes it a lot more attractive. And there is also a white version out now--just check pricegrabber.com.
Pros: Excellent sound at a great price Cons: No headphone jack
Ok, maybe I wouldn't go that far, but these speakers do sound excellent. I've been shopping for some new speakers for quite awhile and after reading all the reviews on epinions I decided on these. I got them on sale for $80 at Circuit City. If you're...
If your on a tight budget and dont really need the head banging experience of more powerful speakers, than these are just the set for you. I had my previous set of speakers die on me and it took a while to get a brand name set of speakers. being on a...
Pros: Good Price, Great Looks, Good Sound Cons: Lacks extremely low bass
When I received these speakers for my birthday I was ecstatic. I had been using a pair of unamplified, Creative Labs speakers from my 486, and boy were these an improvement. These speakers perform very well, accurately reproducing sounds from games,...
Pros: Great sound...style Cons: slight hiss when turned on
I had a monitor with speakers in it. Then I got a new monitor and had to get speakers. Being as there are about a million different choices...I had my work cut out for me. After looking at several models..I chose these. Altec Lansing is known far and...
For Christmas, I got a little extra money in my stocking, so I decided to buy some extra additions to my computer. As a college student, most of my music comes from the internet and in the form of mp3's. So I figured, the best idea would be to replace...
Pros: Good looking set of speakers, good sound Cons: Lightweight satellites, still just computer audio speakers
When Altec Lansing came out with the ATP3 earlier in the year, I took one look and promised myself that I would get those speakers. I did, they looked terrific with their black finish and slim design. Once I found a place the subwoofer (which was a tad...
Pros: Volume control+adjustment+power control on speaker. Very different look. Period. Cons: Fair to poor midrange/vocal output. No headphone output on speaker.
I listen to music and play games on my computer on a daily basis. I have been using a pair of Cambridge PCWorks 3piece speaker system which can be purchased for $30. These sound good, but after 3 years, I really wanted bass adjustments and power on/off...
One of speaker technologie's greatest challenges is creating a speaker that is both aesthetically pleasing and can output sound like something twice its dimensions. The problem with flat panel speakers is that there is no resonance area for the sound and...
Pros: Small speakers, decent sounds. Cons: Expensive for what you get, black doesn't match much, rip-off.
Altec Lansing makes a good speaker set, but they really didn't plan well in the making of these ones. Although yes, they are a really good speaker... They aren't for the price. Altec Lansing offers almost the exact same speakers for half the price, they...
Absolutely LOVE these speakers! My best eBay buy ever! by blisscoach ,Jan 24 '04
Pros: Stunning, elegant design. Beautiful, clean, strong sound. These are PERFECT speakers! Cons: None whatsoever.
These are gorgeously designed speakers. As an audiophile, sculptor, and engineer, I am immensely satisfied with them. Altec Lansing should give a huge bonus to the artist who thought up this design. They look stunning next to my laptop computer, and the sound is clean and very powerful. I haven't heard their equal in their class. Makes me want to hang out at my computer and work more! :) It's a rare day I can't find something to criticize about a purchase, but Altec Lansing has done it. This is perfection -- I can't think of a way to improve upon this incredibly elegant speaker system.
Pros: clear, crisp sound, affordable, good passive and active speakers output separation Cons: nicer if an earphone jack is available and a separate sub-woofer control.
Wow! I never expected a 2.1 multimedia speaker such as AL ATP3 can give me so much enjoyment at such a price of $67.50 here in the Philippines.
Boom!Bang!Ting! You should hear it open your eardrums!
SHAKE, RATTLE, AND........ BANG !! by missm4girl ,Nov 14 '03
Pros: Great material/fabric, cheap price, and a subwoofer Cons: NOTHING NON NIL NOTTA
I bought this set of speakers about two - three years ago, and its still sounds great TRUST ME this is the best speaker for its price-class, and down here in Indonesia its still sells like peanuts, the sound is crisp clear with bass and treble control.
When I kick up the volume for those multiplayer games in the midnight it was so cool, its like in the cinemas. I even forgot to breath, but then in the next morning my neighbours were complaining about it :)
Great material, not those cheap stuffs and incredible surround effects, especially if u are using good sound cards. THIS IS THE THING if your on abudget and wants high-end quality
My Dream 2.1 PC Speaker System by darktemplar ,Dec 15 '03
Pros: Great Sound Quality! Cons: No headphone jack
At last, I've gotten my ATP 3. Since Altec introduced it, I want to buy it coz of the cool new satellite design and the very good reviews about it. I bought it for about $45 (converted) from a friend who sells computer parts.
I've played a variety of music with it and the sound quality is great. Bass is not tight. Mids and highs are quite pleasing.
I've played a lot of new games and the sound is much better than my Creative FPS1000. Sure I lost the surround capability but it doesn't compare with the sound quality I gained.
I like the design of the satellites. It's not bulky. And the black color make them look cooler.
My only wish for this great speaker system is that Altec could have placed an earphone/headphone jack.
I'm completely satisfied with my ATP 3. I will never replace it unless it dies on me.
If you can sill find these, buy them! by bunwhisper ,Oct 01 '05
Pros: Excellent sound quality for a great price Cons: Discontinued and hard to find but still a few out there
These are wonderful computer speakers. They sound better than my Sony tower speakers--the highs are crisp and bright and the bass doesn't distort or vibrate. They come with a wood subwoofer which gives a great bottom to the sound. My rabbit chewed the cord to one, and instead of buying new speakers (I did and was so disappointed with them I returned them) I repaired these. The ATP3s have spoiled me for any other computer speakers. They sound like they cost well over a hundred dollars, but they dont--they are every bit as good as the Harmon Kardon Sound Sticks which cost far more.
If you listen to a lot of music, you wont be disappointed in the sound quality you get from these. The speakers have a tone control, balance and volume switch.
