Pros: Good paper handling. Durable. Has a heart. Cons: Print quality can't compete with even the cheapest new printer.
It isn't fair to compare it with a modern printer, but it has staying power. I bought it back in '97 or '98 for about CAN$250 and it's only just started to give trouble. Not bad for 6 years! In it's day it was pretty good. Nowadays, you'd get far ...
Pros: prints black and white fine Cons: color printing, banging, cost of ink cartridges
My mother asked if I had wanted her old printer. Why, sure! I had a Cannon BubbleJet which was just plain... oh, let's say crappy. Mom had a HP DeskJet 694C from Hewlett-Packard. She claimed that the color ink didn't work. Oh, no biggie I said. I...
Pros: Paper loads from the front Cons: everything else
We bought an HP Deskjet 694c because we knew Hewlett Packard usually makes good products, well, this is not one of them. If you are going to buy this printer, don't.
The biggest problem with this printer is, that you can't keep it clean of ink....
Pros: It prints. Cons: Jams. Paper feed mechanism died. Frequent cleaning and alignment.
Tim would love that title.
When I bought my last printer, I narrowed it down to the HP 694C and HP 722C (or something number like that). The local store sold both for almost the same price (within $10.00), but the marketing brochures said the...

Pros: Front-loading paper: making it a space saver, easy to install Cons: Loud, vibrates, poor color quality
I got the HP Deskjet 694C from a friend who upgraded to a 932C and it was easy to use. Windows XP picked it right up and was ready to print. The printer prints great black and white but the color is very grainy and poor. It's only a 300dpi printer so what can you expect. It's loud and vibrates the desk horribly. I wouldn't pay money for this printer.
I have wasted more paper in this computer. I have to manually feed every sheet of paper, one sheet at a time. If I don't, it will start printing on one sheet of paper and then finish the printing on a 2nd sheet of paper. The result is two sheets of half printing which is a total waste of paper and time. If you don't mind manually feeding your paper, it does give you a nice looking copy.
