Pros: Screen, backlighting, speed, memory, sound, expansion, apperance. Cons: Cost, difficult to get
Ok here goes my following review. To help you understand where I am coming from and that I do have an understanding of the market I am also an owner of the HP Jorando, Philips Nino, and in the past I have owned 3 differnt versions of Palms all the way...
Pros: Reliable, Bright Color Screen, Easy to Use & Great Customer Service Cons: Expensive Because of Low Supply
I bought my iPaq H3650 (which has exactly the same features as the H3630) two months ago. My new job requires me to keep track of much more detail than ever before, and I was beginning to need help keeping track of my personal commitments. I've always...
I got the Compaq iPaq this past December for Christmas. I needed a pocket device mainly to keep all my appointments and contact information, so I had been looking at Palm Pilots. I didn't like their no-color displays, so I never bought one.
Pros: Fast processor; nice color display; QMenu button; just plain looks cool! Cons: Build quality; short battery life; expansion packs double the size of the unit
Just a quick background before I get into the positives and negatives of the Compaq IPaq 3630. I bought the unit from Circuit City right around the time it came out (August 2000) at the MSRP. I guess I was pretty lucky at the time, because myself and...
Pros: Versatile machine. Cons: Expensive. No expansion card slot.
When I started looking for a PDA, a Palm (or Handspring) was not a contender. I have used a Palm III for 2 months and its novelty fades off in 2 days. There is very little you can do with it. A friend calls it a "glorified contacts list."
Pros: Super screen, useful apps, great service. Cons: Forget to charge it and it will forget you own it!
Much as I hate to contribute to the "Microsoft takes over another niche" trend, I gotta say that the Ipaq 3630 is a serious rival to the Palm OS. The backlit, reflective color screen is quite bright and easy to read in situations ranging from direct...
Pros: A LOT of functionality Cons: Not yet perfect...but closer than any PDA
Preface:
Given the large number of very thorough reviews, I will not do a formal write-up of the IPaq's features and programs. This review will be more of a 'straight-from-the-hip' discussion of my experiences.
Pros: More functional than Palm Device. speed, color screen, USB connection to PC. Cons: slightly heavy, begs to be dropped, tinny speaker
The Compaq IPaq is truly a marvel to behold. The device has a 206MHZ ARM processor for speedy access to data, MP3 and MPEG video capability are just some of the selling points of this device. I have a long history of PDA's, back as far as the Apple...
Pros: Bright, vivid display and everything you need in a trim, stylish package. Cons: More expensive than other PDAs.
I never thought I would buy another Windows-based PDA after using a Palm V, as I simply never thought the Pocket PC could be efficient enough to work as well as the Palm OS. The iPaq is the first Windows-based device to completely convert me.
Pros: Fast, feature-packed, expandable Cons: A little bulky with add-ons
I never liked personal organizers. Especially PDAs. Too overpriced, too much crap. If it was PalmOS then it was lackluster and dull and if it was WinCE/PocketPC it was unstable and flakey.
Then one day my boss at work got a Compaq iPaq....
Pros: Great color screen, it's a real computer. Cons: Becomes bulky if you add a Compact Flash or PC card sleeve.
I've waited a long time before buying a PDA, since I've wanted more than the basic PIM functions. With the iPaq I can do pretty much anything I can do on the "mothership", such as writing Word docs and Excel spreadsheets. With a 200MHz computer it has...
Pros: Color screen is very good outdoors, lots of memory, gobs of features, easy to use. Cons: Battery life, No printed manual (It's on CD. Expensive.
This review is about the "new, improved" IPAQ H3635, which replaces the other 3600 models. As I understand it, the 3630 and 3650 are no longer available.
I first got my hands on a IPAQ back in August of 2000, when my real estate broker asked...
Pros: Cool looking, Awesome screen, Powerful, expanison sleeves(sky is the limit) Cons: Expensive, feels delicate, expansions sleeves add size and weight
I love this thing. It has the best screen of any PDA, easily readable in any conditions. The backlight is so bright, you can actually use it a flashlight in a bind. The bright backlight does tend to drain the power a little fast. The battery life is...
Pros: Great design, lots of functionality. Cons: Expensive, difficult to find in stock, production problems result in faulty devices
The Compaq iPAQ is certainly a huge step beyond the PDA's that have been offered in recent years. From the moment I got mine, I never seemed to find a use for my year-old Palm V. The problem with the PDA's seems to be rapidly advancing...
