Pros: A dependable, efficient and effective printer for home or light office use.
Front loading. Cons: Costly color cartridge; leading edge jam on cardstock work.
This printer was included in a Computer package in 1995. Aside from some card stock jams(business cards etc) it has performed perfectly and has had NO downtime in seven years. It originally handled card stock sheets well but failed to load a single sheet...
Pretty good machine. It doesn't like thin paper too well but I figured that out 4 years ago and the printer still works fine. It takes a variety of thick paper and recycled papers also.
A few months ago it acted up and I thought it was dying. So I wedged a folded up piece of paper in the small plastic paper mover flap (not sure what its real name is called) and it worked again no problem. Later the folded up paper I wedged in there came loose and it still prints for some reason. I don't question it or move it much and it keeps running well. The software that came with it works well on Windows 95 & XP and Windows 2000 Pro.
I also have a 660c but it is connected to my Performa Mac and runs fine also, but I've only had that 6 months and I've only printed with it 5 times so I don't have much to say about that one. (Not sure if the cse is the same as the c version but they look the same in every way I can see.)
I have had a 660c sitting on my desk for over 2 years, and have never had a problem with it. It is relatively stingy with ink, and produces a good looking page. I have the advantage of having faster and higher resolution printers available to me for those special applications, but for every day printing, this is a winner. I have just purchased one for my daughter to use at home.
Purchased over 5 years ago and still going strong. Lines in print started appearing a year ago and has become increasing worse with age. Cheaper to replace than fix. Parallel cable only. Overall a good, durable, inexpensive printer.
