Pros: Fast, incredibly versatile, very automatic mode or completely manual mode. Very wide range of resolutions.
Cons: Comes with complicated imaging editing software that isn't necessarily compatible with std. computer packages.

Summary: I hate to buy anything related to computers or new technology... ever since I paid $2,000 for a Sperry luggable with dual floppy drives, 512K RAM, and ran at 4.7 MHZ (I think). All you have to do is wait a few months, new machines come out, ... read more

Pros: So simple to use, but so flexible for the serious user...
Cons: Gets pretty hot at times, not ideal for 35mm scans.

    Pros: 1600 x 3200 DPI, 42 bit color
Cons: No SCSI stuff, OCR software

Summary: This scanner is GREAT! It's a professional quality scanner for the home user at a low price. If only I had an Epson printer to go along with it, I would be a printing maniac. I have made so many scans and they all come out clear. I would'nt call this ... read more

    Cons: None

Pros: Extremely user friendly, on/off button to extend the scanner lights life.
Cons: The first one had dirt under the glass

Summary: If you used an HP 4P, HP 6300, and a HP photo scanner over the past 3-4 years, and then tried an Epson 1640SU Photo. You would throw stones at all the others. The software is dead easy to use and let you add any application or(program) you want to scan ... read more
