Pros: Ease of use, performs fax, copying or scanning while printing, easy setup. Cons: Printing quality not very impressive, 6 ft connector cable limits the placement of the printer.
I am writing this review after using the MFC 7300c for sometime and also after using all the features. I am going to try and explain the pros and cons of each function.
PACKAGING - The brother came well packaged and the parts needed to...
Pros: fast and affordable Cons: print colors could be improved
Brother 7300c has so many perks that I like. It has a telephone handset, video capture features, lots of desktop software, Mac compatibility, and very fast printing speeds. What's not to like?!
Pros: Too many to enumerate Cons: No answering machine or speakerphone
I own a computer shop and consider myself knowledgeable and a stern judge of electronics.
Everything I own is for sale so I got rid of my Canon 3500, a multifunction unit that never satisfied. After that sale I spent hours looking for the...
Pros: Quick and easy to set up, lots of functions for the price.
Cons: Unable to use the software that came with it because of the OS I run.
I am very happy I selected this machine for my home office. It does have a couple drawbacks, but there are far to many positives about it to say this is junk.
First of all, the machine installs in seconds. Once you have put the parts...
Pros: Lots of stuff for a compact unit Cons: Good luck getting it to work!
Software is lousy. Good luck, and don't waste your money.
I was utterly dissapointed in installing the drivers and as far as the ease of use goes, forget it. This thing is just screwey. I wouldn't buy one again, and if you have Windows...
No good all-in-one!!!!!!!!! by marquita188 ,Feb 11 '05
Pros: All-in-one Cons: no flatbed, slow printing, scanning, coping, paper jams, ink errors, driver errors
I had such a bad time with machine that I gave it away to some one who doesn't know that much about printers, who wouldn't care about what kind of printer she's gets, is just happy with getting a printer at all, not me I want the best for the price. this printer cost too much money, I paid too much for it(299.99 + mi tax)!! from the ink cost to the headaches this thing gave me. ERROR, ERROR, ERROR!!!!!!!! so many errors, like ink error and paper jams too the fact that I had to buy three PCs to get this thing to work. very slow, not even a PC pro I know, could do anything about it!!! So I waited three years too do some more research on all-in-one's, then I did before. and now I found the right one for the price(MFC-5840CN) and I'm very happy with it.
I bought the Brothers 7300c Multifunction about 3 yrs ago... by stoney2004 ,Dec 27 '03
Pros: I will likely buy another Brothers product when this one bites the dust. Cons: I have experienced problems with poor paper feed from time-to time.
The set-up was fairly straight forward with the exception of connecting the printer cable, believe it or not. The way the manual described it, I thought I had to connect both the printer cable and the USB cable as opposed to choosing an either/or option.
I'm very pleased with the print quality, although the ink tends to run out fairly quickly. The cost of replacements at the local Staples shop was about $96.00 Canadian. Which I thought was quite prohibitive. I located a better deal on the net and now order in advance when I'm starting to get low on cartridges.
Since I have an answering service on my phone for my small business, I've never been able to get the fax to receive properly. I either have to set it up to receive if I know a fax is coming through for me, or I leave it on send.
The machine's performance for the first 2 years was solid.
Brother MFC 7300C Terrible by neillecho ,Oct 30 '05
Pros: Some good quality b&w and color - including photos Cons: Paper handling
Paper handling problems big time. After 3 years, found machiine would improperly input receiving paper 3 of 4 times; jam up, require opening cover, pushing start button, maybe yes, maybe no properly accept next sheet. Tried all different qualities of paper - same problem. Cannot recommend product
Pros: great machine, i have found that it works wounders for me Cons: can't get the info, i am looking for to fix my printer, scanner,ect..
I love my all in one, but the only thing is that when my computer got a virus, it had deleted some of my files, now i can not use my all in one. I wish there was a way that i could get a new book and a new disk to reset my brother mfc 7300c but there is no way i have found. i am woundering if there is some way that there is somewhere i can go to get this disk
Had to return MFC 7300C... by unlucky_dt3000 ,Jul 04 '02
Had to return MFC 7300C after 9 months due to problems. Replacement was fine for 4 months before it stopped working. Had problem fixed but after hooking it up again found that fax is not receiving.Spent much time waiting on phone for tech support to respond.
I cannot recommend this machine... by blurb_dt3000 ,Feb 28 '03
I cannot recommend this machine to anyone. Sure it will do color and sure it will receive faxes but all together it is not performing. Cost of cartridges even in discount places is atrocious. You go through them like nothing. I think they are made to evaporate. Never used yellow for a few months yet had to replace the cartridge twice! That is complete ....! Also you cannot receive and print a fax in black and white if one of your color cartidges is out! What does the color have to do with a b/w fax?
We have had it for almost a year and it has been the source of many curses. Get a separate fax machine and a real color printer for photos instead.
Not happy with printer at... by tsmith_dt3000 ,Sep 08 '02
Not happy with printer at all. Never got it to print properly. The worst thing about it is that I'm stuck with it, due to the one year warranty. I've had mine for about a year and a half. For the price, it's just not worth it. The warranty should be at least two or more years.
The price was right on this printer, until you start going through print cartridges. Then, the cost effectiveness goes quickly down the tubes.
Every 3-4 months and then I had to replace cartridges. At ~$60 a pop for color & black, this quickly exceeds the cost of the printer within a year and a half.
