Pros: Inexpensive, Good Software, Easy to Use. Cons: Toll Tech Support (but that applies to most scanners).
When I first saw the ad showing a Visioneer Scanner for $19.95, I thought "Well, I bet it is a piece of junk". The Staples ad said that the Visioneer 4400USB regularly sold for 79.95, but that it came with two $30 rebates (one from Staples and one from...
Pros: 42 bit Color, 1200x600dpi, Price, USB Cons: no buttons, bundled software needs upgrading,
Scanning is a simple process: bring the hardcopy image or document into the digital realm of the attached computer. Because the process is so seemingly simple, the decision to purchase a scanner often depends on efficiency, bundled software and price....
Pros: Decent Quality, excellent color rendition. Comparatively quiet and always dependable. 1st Class Software Cons: None
I've been using a scanner for quite a few years, since about 1991. I've had HP Scanjets for the most part starting with the IIC, then the 4C, and then whatever that $750 thing was the company bought me two years ago. Personally, I've owned a Visioneer ...
Pros: Cheap! Images turn out very nice. Quick and easy set-up. Easy to use. Cons: Nothing much to complain about.
I purchased this scanner about 5 months ago, when Staples had a rebate offer that made the total cost $15. I had intended to sell it on ebay and make a few bucks. The highest bid at the end of the auction was $38 so I decided to cancel the auction and...
Pros: inexpensive, easy to use Cons: rebate took forever, slow, not sophisticated
My first comment about the scanner is a secondary but important one: it took forever to get the rebate. I purchased it at Staples (they almost never have a rebate form in stock) and within 48 hours sent in all the forms to get my rebate. Of course I...
A great inexpensive scanner! by jurney ,Jul 03 '04
Pros: A great inexpensive instrument I hate to cast out. Cons: Having trouble installing in my Micro.XP Pro.
This 4400 scanner was a great investment and I have used it successfully and enjoyably for many years (since 1998?). I used it with Wind.95, 98 and ME. But, now I have Wind.XP Pro. and can not install it. Can you please tell me how to install it on my present system? I need its use badly. Please respond to Bob Alexander @ ralexfla@bellsouth.net.
For the price I feel this is a good scanner. I have
used it for school scanning pictures and OCR.
The photo scanning quality is good and colors seem to be pretty close. Once scanned in pictures were easy to work with and move around. I really liked the zoom ability for editing them. This scanner actually was better than my old name brand scanner that I got 6 years ago. For the price, good value.
I got this scanner one... by r41866_dt3000 ,Jul 30 '02
I got this scanner one month ago and I am very unsatisfied with the performance. The scanning speed is slow. The contrast and brightness are bad. The biggest problem is that its scanned colors are distorted and you will find that the scanned immages are much less rich in color than the original pictures. By the way, the scanned area doesn't fit the scope you specify in preview.
