Ambir Technology TravelScan® Pro PS350-90 Pass-Through Scanner

Pros: Great quality scans from a 300dpi, lightweight, easy to use.
Cons: Some darker scans my appear with white dots.

This is a scanner I was looking to buy myself. I am limited in my home office space and the flatbed I had had, went bad. So on the search for the best price and quality; this little scanner seems to be the next addition to my home.

Pros: Compact sheetfed scanner with USB connection
Cons: Software connection with Mac OS 10.4 leaves too much to be desired.

This would be a nice candidate for replacing the Paperport now that Visioneer no longer supports the Mac platform. Unfortunately the product does not live up to expectations. It does not have its own driver in which to scan an image (rather than send it on for OCR) and collaboration with OS X Image Capture is cumbersome at best. It works well enough with Omnipage.
