Pros: Great color, Great picture size and easy to use! Cons: The size (outside deminsions) and weight plus the price!
The Sony CPDG520 Monitor is considered a 21-inch monitor but in reality it measures 19.8 inches that is viewable. Not only does it have a large viewing area, it is rather heavy at 67.4 pounds! The size of it is 19.7 inches in height x 19.6 inches wide...
Pros: Vibrant colors, sharp text, FLAT screen. Cons: Controls a bit awkward
At first, I had reservations about the price of this monitor. But, after just a few days, I have absolutely no regrets. I paid $850 seven years ago for a Sony 17" and I was extremely satisfied with the display. I researched several monitors in the 21"...
Pros: Sleek Design, 2-VGA inputs, Vibrant fluid color and lots of adjustable controls Cons: Susceptible to signal "noise." Tedious adjustment controls. Text isn't uniformly sharp throughout screen
I have only had this monitor a few days, and actually the first one I received had a slight deformity on the left hand side on top and bottom corners that caused the screen to contort a little, mostly noticeable with the text only. The replacement from...
Pros: Sharp image, small footprint for 21" monitor Cons: Plastic color slightly weird. Control not as nice as older model
I've always liked Sony Monitors. They've got a sharp image, generally flat screen and most importantly, can handle high resolutions at a high refresh rate.
I'm running the Sony G520 at 1600x1200@85Hz from multiple computers. At this...
I shopped for a while for a new monitor and finally bought one as an upgrade from my failing 10-year-old ADI 15"er, so my review isn't necessarily going to help anyone split hairs over the different 21" monitors out there.
I have had this monitor for 8 months or so now, and I must say that it is an excellent monitor. It will do up to 2048x1536 resolution at either 80 or 85hz (I forget which). Unfortunately, even with an ATI Radeon 8500 and after raising the font size to...
Pros: good picture when working Cons: QA, service abysmal
Nice picture, at first sight good value. Poor controls. If you buy one of these, pray it doesn't suffer infant mortality, as mine did. I purchased one new from Gateway on Oct 4th, 2001 and it died shortly after I received it. Shipped to Sony at my...
Amazing Graphics and Color by critic27 ,Nov 30 '03
Pros: Amazing colors, ability to adjust/set monitor, great details. Cons: Expensive and heavy.
I've always preferred Sony Trinitron for monitors and TVs and found the Sony CPD-G520P 21" monitor. I did not love this monitor at first: when you first plug it into the computer, the colors are over-bright and text documents are blurry. I was supremely disappointed that I just wasted $562 for a monitor I didn't like.
After two hours of adjusting the monitor setting, I finally got all the colors right and fixed the blurry text ... and WOW, my games look great (even at 1280 x 720, the highest setting I'm able to get on it) and my text documents are no longer blurry!

Wonderful monitor that performs as... by gamer_dt3009 ,Jan 29 '03
Wonderful monitor that performs as advertised. Has a huge footprint on your desktop and gets quite warm. When coupled to my Ti 4600 videocard and Athlon XP2200, it produces outstanding gaming. I frequently game at resolutions as high as 1600 x 1200. Having a newer video card is essential to take advantage of all the faster refresh rates.
The controls on the monitor bezel are not very intuitive and are frustrating at times.
Test is just a tad blurry at times. A lot of places on the web don't take advantage of large, high res monitor capabilities, so it is frequently overkill.
It kicks the cr@p out of the best, largest LCD's any day of the week, though.
I am 15 and i use my monitor all the time. This one is great for gaming and internet use. It refreshes super fast and unlike my previous 16' monitor does not bother my eyes a bit. It is bright and crisp and i regularly use 1792 x 1394 on my games, it makes them look stunning, almost like i am looking through a window into the game.
