Cheap Quality

by infrequent , Feb 16 '02
Pros: Clear edge to edge printing. Ink doesn't smear with hi-lighter.
Cons: Very cheap construction. Expensive Ink.
This printer has excellent printing capabilities that rival actual photos. It also prints without any margins. Unfortunately, the paper loading mechanism broke shortly after replacing the first set of ink cartridges. The printer is extremely noisy and...

Not worth taking out of the box.

by fivetrick , Feb 16 '03
Pros: None to speak of.
Cons: Paper jams frequently, drinks ink like water, ink clogs often, print quality only tolerable.
I've had this printer for almost 6 months; the reason I bought i was because ink for my deskjet was going to cost as much as this printer did, and now I know why.

Epson Sytlus Photo 780; AVOID!!!

by thesman , Oct 10 '02
Pros: Picture quality is excellent when working properly. OSX compatible.
Cons: Clogs , consumes ink, lousy quality construction, frequent paper jams.

Pros: Tech support tried
Cons: Drinks ink, noisy, actually "walks" on the desk from the shaking. Terrible photo printing.
I bought this 780 printer new and for the first couple of weeks it printed well, but then it needed head cleaning due to streaky pictures. It just about sucked the ink cartridges dry doing that! I had already bought extra cartridges and found myself ...

I purchased this printer only...
by kah_yee_mah_dt3000 ,Jul 08 '02
I purchased this printer only for photo and CD labeling production. The only printer that I have tested, that rivals this model (Only for a trained eye to notice) is the Cannon SD9000. The Epson 780 is a flawless photo quality printer that cannot be match in its price catergory, not excluding those photo printers that cost several hundred dollars more.
