Pros: Great price, Super stable when overclocked, Thermo heat sensor Cons: Big coolers will block off some DIMM slots
When it comes to motherboards that caters to overclockers, no company does it better than Abit. Abit has dominated this arena since the introduction of the first BX 6. Since then Abit has continued to improve their products to stay ahead of the...
Pros: jumperless Cons: old chipset, not so stable,
It was great when it first came out, but its chipset is pretty old these days, and there already is BE6-II and other pentium 2&3 based motherboard out which is better than this one, and ATA/66 controller on this board is bad, i like jumperless...
Pros: Ease Of Use In Most Cases Cons: Possible PCI Conflicts
This was my first board for a home-built system. It has worked fantastically well for the past year. I must warn everyone about one issue, though. "bnlitin" wrote a review and said that this board has a problem with PCI cards sharing IRQs....
Pros: stable, has 5 PCI, 2 USB, AGP 4x Cons: Can only upgrade CPU to PIII 700
I built a new computer from scratch, and I saw good reviews of the BE6, so I bought it. I wasn't disapointed. It has everything that I need. AGP 4x, 5 PCI slots, 2 USB ports, and, well you can see the picture. I wanted my new computer to be top of the...
Pros: Easy to overclock, good manual Cons: ATA/66 Controller is *ver*y* buggy
I've had the ABIT BE6 motherboard for over a year and it's worked great with the Pentium III 450 MHz CPU overclocked to 558 MHz (front side bus at 124 MHz).
Recently, I've upgraded the CPU to Pentium III / 800 MHz (front side bus at 115MHz)...
Pros: Inexpensive, good performer Cons: no bells and whistles
If you want to build a quality P3 system, without spending too much, you may want to consider this motherboard. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the BE6-2, but it almost as good, and is a very stable board. You can run your computer all...
I've always enjoyed my abit motherboards, ever since their jumperless socket7 board that made them popular. I then upgraded to the BH-6, which I was very happy with. But the BE6 was a total dissapointment. Why you ask? The UDMA66 controller was a...
Pros: Easy to use, quality equipment. Cons: Minor mislabeling in the manual.
This is the best motherboard I have ever owned, here's why.
Granted, this is the only motherboard I have actually bought without a computer attached to it. I bought this motherboard a year and a half ago, when I decided,...
Pros: cheap, reliable, cool features Cons: somewhat old
This is definately the best Slot 1 board on the market today. I would suggest you buy it if you are going to get either a celeron, p2, or p3. Not only does it offer the standard features, it also includes what's called a soft bios, which means that you...
If you HAVE to use this board, max out your ram first, or you'll spend more time rebooting than computing. You don't want to use any of your hard drive as a swap file if you can avoid it. I built 4 systems with this board, and have been baby-sitting them ever since. The ATA controllers lock the system constantly, making your fancy PCI devices look like the culprits until you figure it out. And support? ABIT quit supporting this board even before they quit making it.
Abit AW9D-MAX GPEB17 Motherboard ABIT AW9D-MAX is the essence of Bushido, the true "way of the warrior". This board is built with only one thing in mind - destroy the competition - no...
