Pros: DVD, speedy processor Cons: Needs more RAM, battery life
Most laptops on the market today seem to be niche-oriented. Some are built lightweight for ease of portability, while others are built for power at the expense of weighing a ton. Compaq has truly found a happy medium with the Presario 1210US.

Pros: Price, ease of use, lightweight, JBL sound Cons: 128MB of memory isn't enough, 16MB of video would have been nice
I bought my 1210US last August at Best Buy. When I was shopping for laptops, there were probably about 4 in my price range at the store. This was my first laptop, so I wanted all I could get for the money (I was willing to spend up to $1800). I had...
Pros: The Compaq Presario 1210 is fast, lightweight, easy to use, and has a big screen. Cons: My machine did not have the Microsoft Office included.
I recently purchased a laptop computer because I started a new career as a consultant and it was necessary to have a laptop to perform my responsibilities. I also had less than a full week to find and purchase the laptop before started my first job. I...
Pros: Good Quality. Descent price. Cons: Battery life. Too thick.
I bought this laptop for college. It runs great. It runs better than a Intel Celeron processor. It is quite thick and heavy. Sound system is pretty good for a laptop. A few wishes though. First I wish they would have given me the option of a...
Extremely fast for a PIII -- model 12XL510 by etbob ,Mar 21 '05
Pros: 14.1" TFT display, JBL speakers, solid construction. Cons: Heavy and big. Spare parts hard to find and expensive.
I bought this PIII 800mhz 128mb ram 15gb hard drive machine used. Apparently the Pentium III is extremely rare for this model, every other one I have ever read about being a Duron instead.
It now has become my primary use computer. Once I got the system tuned up, it got really fast. For me, it worked best setting the video to use the maximum setting of 8mb shared.
I had to replace the keyboard and DVD drive, which was very hard to find used. It plays DVDs as as good as any I've ever seen on any laptop!
Battery life is not too long and it weighs a ton, but for a good overall internet workhorse and DVD movie player, this one is perfect!
