Pros: Um... none. At all. Not a one.

Oh how I WISH I'd've checked epinions before buying these stupid things. Bottom line: the things do - NOT - go flat. I can't believe it. For many years, I dreamed of spacebags. How much neater, and nicer life would be if only I could spacebag all ...

I've had my space bags for a few months now. they've properly stored away most of my winter clothes from last year. All of the opinions on here and pretty negative, so I thought I would throw in my two cents.

The seal is decent on the kind that I have. I'm not sure if they have come out with a better kind recently, but they worked just find. They keep the dust off and also keep their seal pretty decently.

If you're looking to store anything hard at all, be very careful when you fill them up. they tend to tear pretty easily, especially on rough edges and corners.

Other than that, decent product for how cheap they are.

Ok, they suck the air out of your stuff for maybe an hour or so and you are completely amazed. Then, all the air slowly pours back in leaving you in the same place you started. I bought them for an upcoming move to save space. I will just plan now to move my stuff and the air inside of it. It is awful and discouraging. I followed the directions exactly, and tried to rearrange my things to make it work with no luck. One of the valves was missing, and I could not get through to customer service without waiting forever.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON SPACE BAGS!

Cons: Won't keep its vacuum, so as a space saver, it doesn't work.

I agree with the other reviewer. Initially you think, wow, these work great. But then within a day, or a few days, they start getting bigger as air leaks in. I got mine at the Container Store. A waste of money unless ending up with what amounts to a big ziplock bag is ok. You could use a heavy duty yard bag and a twistie and save your money.

Pros: It's kind of fun to watch stuff shrink while you are vacuuming air out.
Cons: Poorly constructed valve/seals and seams. Items won't stay compressed.

I'm a sucker for infomercials but always wait til the stuff hits a local discount store's "as seen on TV" rack to actually buy. I was excited to find space saver bags at a huge discount when I was getting ready to move. I followed the directions and was impressed at first. They did indeed suck all the air out and give me a very compact package. However, the package didn't stay compact for long. The seals or valves just aren't well constructed enough to hold and air seeps back in slowly. By morning all my stuff was the same size it was at the start. And even worse, not only were the valves defective but the biggest bag that was supposed to be constructed for heavy stuff like winter coats popped a hole in the seam. I taped the seam with duct tape and got the ability to suction back, but none of the several bags I bought would stay compressed for more than a day. A total waste of money.

Do not waste your time on these bags! I bought 3 medium and 2 jumbo bags and 3 will not hold the air in what-so-ever! I spent hours going through my closet throwing away all the clear bags the comforters came in and carefully placed them in all the bags. Then I vacuumed all the air out. I was amazed at first but then when I woke in the morning all the air had been deflated. I vacuumed all the air out again trying to avoid sucking the rubber valve out with the vacuum hose. Waste of my time and money! Back to Walmart they go!

I bought a double set of the space bags from Space Bags.Com thinking I could really get a handle on storage space. I put two king size comforters in the jumbo bag and vacuumed out the air. The bag promptly re-inflated. I readjusted the contents, made sure the zippered end sealed and still no luck. Then I tried the large bag putting in two sets of king size sheets thinking I would start with something smaller and maybe have better luck. After assuring the zipper end was well sealed and vacuumed out the air and it too re-inflated in a short amount of time. Back they go folks. I'll continue doing what I've always done -- save the plastic zipper bags that linens are sold in and store them best I can. Wish I had read the reviews here first. They are the same as mine.

I bought this much advertised product to help organize my home so my mother in-law can come live with us.
None of the larger bags hold a seal and so the air comes back. The zipper seal comes off easily. The bag itself is easily punctured.

Pros: The large one that didn't lose it's rubber valve worked really well
Cons: The valve gets lost way too easily. The smaller bags just plain suck!

I bought this product twice - I thought maybe I just bought a dud the first time. The huge bags that you vacuum the air out of have a rubber valve which gets sucked up the vacuum leaving the item useless. The one I had that didn't lose the valve worked well. I tried to get a replacement from their customer service but they never arrived - despite their email confirmation.
The bags that you roll and squeeze the air out of air also not worth it. They initially flatten down well, but the air seeps back in and before too long they are all 'puffed up' again. I will not be making the same mistake again.

Where are all the other reviews? Space Bags are so bad I simply couldn't believe it. I went through the whole routine four or five times to store linens and some comforters.  Every time I put the wonderfully compressed packages on my shelves, and some under a bed, I came back a few days later and found them all completely reinflated, pushing and jamming the shelves and up against the bed springs. I actually bought another set (!!) at Costco, thinking there had been some kind of massive defect, now corrected ,for Costco to be selling them. Now I couldn't even close the bag-on my last large one- I slide the zip, start to slide it back ,bag gapes open immediately. How can people continue to be fooled? Who knows-the idea is brilliant- IF it worked.

Everything I put in the Space Bags smells terrible when I open it. I change detergent and softener and nothing works.
