Samsung DVD-V2000 DVD Player / VCR Combo

Pros: Takes up less space with 2 units
Cons: Quit working after a few months, poor customer service

After about 6 months of use I noticed the DVD spin getting louder, taking longer to load and now it will not load any DVD. I took it back to Best Buy and they hooked it up and it ran fine. I took it home, hooked it up and it still ran fine. I put it in the entertainments center and WHAMMO, same problem again. Heat issue maybe? Its on a shelf with about 10 inches above it in an open cabinet.

Samsung was among the first to combine a DVD and VCR. Great idea, but poor execution. Have already sent mine back to repair center due to pixelization and sound, but still the volume is so faint you must turn it up nearly full blast to hear it. Also the FF/Rvw buttons still do not work. We live with it, but won't buy another Samsung.

Mine completely broke down after about 35 days. It won't play dvd's at all. Up to that point the picture quality and sound quality was fair. It had a lot of skipping and freezing. All I get now is a bunch of vertical lines across the screen. I have to send to New Jersey to have fixed. Not happy about having to spend money to send to New Jersey.

I purchased this as my first DVD player. I did not realize the problems occuring, skipping and freezing, were the DVD player until the picture froze and would not respond to any commands. This all happened after two months.

this DvD is very stylish , over the standard that you wud expect , which is fantastic, considering it isn't to expensive. the feature are just great, and is good fun, and super, considering it isn't that to expensive , it is absolutly, fantastic, so this is a must get , because sony always get it right.

Picture quality overall poor. Pixels appearing many times during the viewing. Poor quality with new DVD and old rentals DVD. Tried cleaning, no help. Too late to return for refund but that would have been the thing to do..

First DVD player I've owned. Has been working just fine, no problems. Having the DVD/VCR combo allows us to keep using our VHS tapes, while we upgrade our library to DVD at our own (affordable) pace.

Purchased this combo unit at Best Buy. Brought it home set it up, popped in a movie and the platter noise was awful. You could actually hear the DVD platter spinning, not only during quiet scenes, but through the center channel speaker. (Yes my speaker is shielded and I use high quality audio cable) Took it back to Best Buy, trading for an amazing Sony player, the NS715P.

Great space saver, can play DVD & VCR. Inexpensive so know it will only last 3 to 5 years, if you are lucky

This is better than V1000 model my friend had. Good picture and sound. Also this combo works great with all TVs., Computers. It is a good buy.

I think anyone whos looking for a in home dvd player, that this is the one! The prices are great and the sound, images, and avalability is amaxing! It's great for eveyday use, and it looks great!
