  • Samsung/Klipsch HT-SK5 DVD Home Theater

Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community

Pros: Progressive Scan, 5 disc carousel, Klipsch speakers, large, sturdy subwoofer, mp3 & jpeg support.
Cons: Wall mounting kit for speakers not included.

Summary: Audiophiles know the name Klipsch as high end speakers, and as many DVD systems skimp in this area, I chose this medium priced Samsung all-in-one DVD system. I was not disappointed. It boasts a 5 disc carousel, Progressive Scan, great sound and video ... read more

Pros: Great sound for price. Klipsch speakers are adequate for HTIB
Cons: Limited use of amp with AUX inputs. Poor flexibility with mounting speakers. Scratches DVDs.

Summary: We bought this system about 2 years ago. As far as we could tell it worked great. My only issue at the time was that the speakers are VERY limited as to how you can connect them to stand or wall brackets. For the most part it did what we expected and for ... read more

    Pros: Klipsch speakers are alright.
Cons: Worst piece of electronics I have ever owned.

Summary: The receiver quit working after about 10 hours of use, unfortunately, it is out of warranty as I did not use it for quite some time after purchase. It is too expensive to get fixed, so, in the garbage it

Pros: cheap, good for analog, low end
Cons: poorly made, isn't loud enough, supports limited aux units and only one HDTV source.

Summary: I've had this now for almost two years and while the speakers are OK, I found that on HDTV content the receiver can't seem to handle the sound very well. You've got to blast up the volume almost to full blast to hear, but on DVD and analog the volume is

  • Aspect ratio problem after 15 months

Rated Show by the Epinions community
    Aug 3, 2005
    Pros: Speakers
Cons: DVD/receiver. Does not play DVD/R.

Summary: I bought this HT system after a recommendation from Best Buy staff. Now, 3 months after the warranty period has expired, the aspect ratio jumps back and forth every 5-seconds all on its own accord. I called customer service and tried to reset by holding
