Samsung ML-1450 Personal Laser Printer
~Price paid-
$299 with a $50 mail in rebate and a $50 instant rebate at MicroCenter (so $199 is how much it cost me but I paid $249). Similar prices are available online, however, I...
Pros: Quiet, fast, dependable, great price, easy memory expansion Cons: Instruction manual must be downloaded from the web (PDF).
OVERVIEW
This printer looks like a much more expensive HP, and prints at just as high quality, no jam ups, etc. The paper tray holds an entire pack of paper (550 sheets). It prints at about 14-15 pages per minute, at up 1200 DPI resolution. It comes...
Pros: Feature packed printer for the price. Cons: If you need the PostScript option, that may place the printer on the pricey side.
This is a very good printer for the home or office. Comparing this printer to the HP1200 and the Brother HL1440, I found the ML-1450 to be the better printer. I wanted a printer that was PS capable (HP/yes, Brother/no), would work on Linux, and...
Pros: Great output, economical, solid build quality, good paper handling, easy setup Cons: Takes up a fair amount of desk real-estate!
In looking for a sub-$300 laser printer I ended up torn between two models available locally: the Brother HL-1440 and the Samsung ML-1450. Both appear to be reliable printers, are economically priced (though as I write this the Brother is available for...
Pros: Fast printer. Easy setup. Dependable. Cons: None
I'm a computer consultant so I'm always purchasing and installing printers that clients either require or need help with after they've purchased one. I've been exposed to many office printers and can account for the ML 1450's features and reliability. I...
Pros: Great print quality; Reasonable price Cons: Not a HP
I purchased this printer for my home, where we do a fairly large amount of printing, mostly text stuff, in black and white. It took me only a matter of a few minutes, from box to network, to printing. Now, I'm not the most technical person, so that was...
Pros: fast, appears well built Cons: Not for iMACs
I bought this printer from CompUSA. Unfortunately, I could not get my computer to recognize the printer. After talking to a tech at the CompUSA tech services for about an hour, he came to the conclusion that the set up software did not include a driver...
Pros: Great printer for the price. Easy set up. Cons: Didn't come with a printer cable.
After my inkjet printer broke, I said to myself, "I must get a laser printer just like I have at work." However, the prices were unbelievable. So, I used the internet to search for a quality, low priced printer. Just about every review site gave the...
Pros: Cheap, but not lacking in quality. Cons: Honestly I like everything.
Let me start off by saying what I like about this printer. First if you think you can find a laser printer with this much dpi for the price you are out of your mind or your buying stolen goods. I was a bit skeptical about this printer at first since it...
Worst Printer Ever Owned by seattlerust ,Oct 17 '05
Pros: Clean, crisp prints Cons: Severe feed problems
This printer will not feed. Ever since I bought it three years ago, it has had a problem feeding paper. I have had to learn to open it up periodically and manually sand the rubber feeder cam to keep friction high enough to continuously feed paper. I have tried various weights and brands of paper to no avail. I'm currently thinking "boat anchor".
I am a long time HP printer user. Decided to purchase the Samsung 1450 after doing much research and comparison of similar products in this price range. For the money this machine provides features found only in other top of the line models. Setup is a breeze. Quality of print etc is excellent. I am thrilled.
