Great Camera and Camcorder
by kjscrafts ,Dec 06 '06
Pros: Compact thing to carry for those who want great pics and video Cons: Digital Camera aspect is not as good as single camera
I have had my DuoCam for a little over a year now and I still love it. It is great to be able to quickly change between a 5.25 megapixel camera and good camcorder with the push of a button. This camera is easy to use and offers some great options. I like to experiment and use the negative effect mode giving my pictures the look of being a negative. It also offers sepia and black and white modes, so you do not have to it on the computer and instead can just shoot in black and white and immediately know how it will turn out. The camcorder offers Easy Q, which gives it resistance to hand movement. The only problem I have noticed some people taking my picture have is using the eyepiece to see. It needs to be adjusted for every person differently. However, you can always use the flip out screen, although it drains the batteries faster.

Keep Looking!
by cstates ,Feb 28 '06
Pros: Don't need and camera and a camcorder
Lightweight, compact Cons: Can't seem to keep it working
We have owned our Samsung DuoCam for just about 6 months now, and are sending it back to Samsung for the second time for repairs...and it is having the same problem it had before. Turn it on, take 2 pictures, then is just stops, lens won't retract, starts making a funny noise...Last time it happened 3 weeks before Christmas, told 10-14 business days for repair, received it back after the 1st of the year. Now we will be going to Disney in 3 weeks, and HOPE to have it back in time to take pictures.
The pictures I have been able to take are good pictures. We haven't done much with the camcorder part.
If we had it to do over again, I would keep looking, and try to find something that won't break every 3 months!

by jszielenski ,Dec 07 '05
Pros: camera+camcorder
uses many memory card types
easy to use
battery life
PC software Cons: camcorder video quality ok
does not make production quality video
I just purchased a Samsung DUOCAM. I have never owned a camcorder. The digital camera works very well. The camcorder also works well however I don't know what to compare it to since I've never owned one. It works fine indoors and outdoors.
