Samsung Yepp YP-F1 (1 GB) MP3 Player

Pros: Decent sound with SRS WOW, easy to operate and loaded with features.

I loved this MP3 player at first. But as I added more songs I noticed an issue. Once I got around 500mb of songs on the player, it started to erase songs as I put new ones on it. The album folder would stay on it, but if you selected it, it would say "no entry".
Called Samsung and they wanted me to pay to ship it to NJ for them to fix it. I only had it a couple of weeks, so I took it back to Target instead. I am a little too leary get another one, so I am going to try a different model.

Pros: Small player, belt clip, usb recharge
Cons: connection to pc requires cable, controls take awhile to get used to

I've had the player for about 5 months now and love it. It is a small player, but not so tiny that it is hard to use or read. The belt clip makes it perfect for exercising. As with many mp3 players (but is a must) you don't have to mess with any batteries, just hook it up to a pc. This is also the biggest drawback to the player...to connect to a pc you have to use a cable.

Pros: Small, cute, 3 different color faceplace, looks smarter than the iPod Shuffle
Cons: No hold button, shallow buttons, short battery life, battery indicator extremely inaccurate, poor sound quality

I was looking for a MP3 player to replace my iPod Shuffle. The iPod Shuffle is okay, but it doesn't display song titles, which is a major pain at times.

After opening the box for this Samsung Yp-F1, I was quite disappointed.

Cons:
No hold button - place in pocket and the buttons can depressed.
Shallow buttons - easily triggered
Proprietory USB plug / cable - the unit charges and transfer files through the stereo mini-jack port (there's no dedicated standard usb plug), meaning that you can't use it in the car with a power adaptor or listen to it while charging. Also, the unit is gonners if the cable gets lost or damage cuz its hard to replace.
Short battery life - 6 hours or so, battery indicator extremely inaccurate
Sound quality - sorta tinny compared to the iPod shuffle
