Pros: Sharpie makes a great set of permanent markers, wide and chiseled tip, fast drying. Cons: Leaves metallic odor behind.

Good Multipurpose Marker

Pros: Writes on Many Surfaces, Permanent after dry, hard to even bleach away. Cons: Poor for fine writing, Can smear if not dry.
Our facility uses these markers for a variety of purposes. They write on plastic, paper, cardboard, and stickers fairly well.
There are a few problems with them though.
1) if you are writing on plastic or any shiny surface you must give them time to dry because they will smear pretty easily.
2) if you need a fine tip, this is not a good one. The fine end of the chisel seems to soften quickly, resulting in bolder writing. This is good for bold writing, but not for fine.
