Pros: Small flat screen for your small space needs; Good price at about $150; Energy Star Cons: Heavy at 60 pounds; limited inputs/outputs; 24" screen size
We originally bought this TV a few years ago when we were going a long road trip with the kids - this was before we had the built-in DVD player in our car. We used the Sanyo DS24205 24" TV in the van, hooked up to a power inverter. We removed ...

Pros: $$$ Cons: Its muscial intent ...
My initial task was to purchase a TV for our weight room in the basement but I quickly realized there were a gazillion TV options all within the same relative price range. So now, I'm thinking ... I can replace my 5 year old Panasonic (which is a great ...

horrible
by jingaling ,Oct 05 '08
Pros: Low Price Cons: Picture was bad. Overall poor quality considering it died only 1.5 years after getting it.
After having it for about a month the picture developed 2 green hazy blobs in the center of the screen, then after only having it for 1.5 years and only using it for a max of 2.5 hours a day, it died. There was a loud pop and that was the end of it,(convenient that there is a 1yr warranty and it dies promptly after it expires). Not worth the money. Will never buy a Sanyo again.

Picture grew discolored blobs
by diafono ,Apr 07 '07
Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Color blotches ruin picture, speakers buzz
This would be a decent TV for the price. The speakers buzzed at times, but if you want better, hook up a stereo. The problem was when I paused a show, there were blobs of discoloration which grew on two spots of the picture. The longer I had it paused, the bigger they grew. The faces of people would turn green. After restarting the show, the blobs would slowly return to almost normal. On a simple white or blue screen, I could see these blobs were permanent, even if not as extreme as when a show was paused.
Also, I noticed the black was not dark enough, leading to a splotchy, pixellated image when the scene was dark (like in space, shadows, etc.). Of course, this could be the compression from my satellite and/or DVR.

Good picture bad sound
by commocruiser ,Sep 22 '06
Pros: cost, picture quality Cons: lousy sound,no volume level display
I bought this at wal-mart for 169 bucks. The picture is pretty good but the sound falls way short. The speakers make a rattling, vibrating, annoying type sound even at moderate volume. Forget about turning it up loud enough to hear across a room. The other thing i don't like about it is the volume display,it doesn't have the little tick marks so you can see what volume level is displayed on the screen. I've had it for 2 days and will be returning it very soon.

So far so good
by unjedai ,Jan 02 '07
Pros: Decent basic flat screen CRT TV for the price. Cons: I wish I could afford a high def TV.
Bought one in December 2006 for $169 from WALMART. So far so good. The picture is good, the sound is OK, the remote works well, the A/V inputs in front and back are all good. Hooked up the VCR, DVD and PlayStation 2 without any troubles. My only complaint is the sound which seems worse than with my old T.V. The background seems to always drown out the voices. Seems like a decent buy for the price.

Sanyo TV
by caljohn ,Jan 02 '07
Pros: Clear picture, good sound, looks good, Cons: Big remote
We've had this TV just over a month and have had no problems with it. We initially went into WAL-MART to get another Sanyo TV that was only $136 but then saw this one next to it for only $33 more so we thought "why not?". We haven't experienced any humming, vibrating or rattling that others reckon they have with this tv. It's true that the screen really isn't 24". I measured it and it's actually 23.5". There isn't any "tick marks" for the volume, but does that really matter? You should be able to judge the volume by listening to it! Overall, it's a good tv for a reasonable price. It says 2 people to carry it on the box but my husband brought it up to our 2nd story apt. by himself with no problems.

Sanyo disappointing
by micman ,Aug 15 '07
Pros: None Cons: Bad picture, bad sound. Bad TV.
We opted for a Sanyo after reading Consumer Reports. CR suggested that Sanyo was the most reliable company for TVs. Well, maybe this is the bottom of the barrel for Sanyo. Sound is atrocious. Sounded like the speakers were blown on day 1 (and we don't crank the volume).
Picture has wandering lines, even in video input mode. Further, our 7 year old Samsung had just broke, and I was shocked to find that the picture was much less clear moving from the 7 year old Samsung to the new Sanyo.
This TV stinks. Is Sanyo this bad or this just their worst TV ever?

Nice set
by downriver ,Jun 24 '06
Pros: Price($165)nice picture, warranty. Cons: Not a lot of extras but what do you want for $160.
Bought this as a replacement set for the bedroom. Good overall picture and sound was not an issue as I have it hooked to a surround unit. The big plus with Sanyo is the one year replacement warranty. Just take it back to where you bought it and they give you a new one. The set I replaced was a Jensen with only 90 days on the labor so, It would have cost me $135 to repair a set I only paid $185 for initially. Needless to say it's out for trash pickup.

Good for Bedroom Use
by tacocitycraz ,May 05 '09
Pros: Easy Setup Cons: Ticking Noise, green spots
After having for 2+ years, the only bad thing that i have noticed is that when it's off, it makes a ticking noise. When staying paused for long periods of time, green spots begin to apear out of nowhere.
