Pros: Price is cheap, Quality is good Cons: Lightweight, I still don't like combo devices
I purchased my Sanyo STEREO HI-FI VCR-DVD Player due to the fact that I can no longer find just a STEREO Sanyo VCR anymore. I’ve never been a fan of these combo devices because inevitably when the VCR goes bad, so will the DVD (or vice versa) and I ...

Pros: Lightweight Cons: Doesn't hold up long
When we first purchased the Sanyo DVD/VCR combo we were looking for something less expensive that could hold up to our kids' movies. This is not the one to get if you want that. Our 2 kids watch movies constantly and we didn't have the combo maybe 6 ...

Pros: Plays DVD+RW, Hi-Fi VCR, Component video Cons: Cheaply built (but priced accordingly)
This unit has component and S-Video out that function for the DVD player, as well as a built-in RF Modulator, making it an ideal choice for use with older televisions. The build quality is not top rate, but for less than $100 it is reasonably ...

Don't waste your money
by danren924 ,Apr 27 '06
Pros: Cheap. Cons: CHEAP!! Can't think of anything good to say about it.
Where do I start to list the problems with this piece of junk? First, the front panel buttons wouldn't respond. I couldn't even turn the power off. Total lock-up! I had to unplug the thing to get it to reset to where I could get a disc out. VCR sound has never come out of the back panel jacks. Many buttons on the remote stopped functioning. It wouldn't allow me to eject a tape or a disc. Unplug again!
I bought this thing because it was cheap at WalMart where I knew I could return it if it was bad, and return it I shall!

Don't waste your money on this piece of JUNK
by goodrich497 ,Apr 08 '07
Pros: None. Cons: Everyhing you can think of.
Had the Sanyo DVW-7200 for thirteen months, then it completely failed, with no power input.
While it was working, the VHS recorder quality was very poor.
Reason for buying, it was on "special" at Walmart. Now I know why !!!!

Haven't had any problems with it.

Pros: Progressive Scan DVD player. Stereo 4 head VCR. Cons: Cheap Plastic top. I mean, I guess it'll work, but it still looks cheap.
I too purchased this device from Wal Mart, looking for an easy return. I am looking to move a lot of VHS tapes to DVD, and needed a new VCR to do it. Well, though this device does not transfer between VHS and DVD, it does have a VCR in it, which is what I needed. The DVD player is a decent addition, but I already have three others...
I have now transferred over 20 tapes to digital using this device as a source...and have had no issues. The VCR part has worked without issue.
I have also popped a few DVDs into the DVD player, and they play like a champ. No button issues, no nothing.
So far, this device has done what I've asked of it, with no complaints.

Worked for a long time...
by sabee529 ,Jul 29 '07
Pros: I used this product for years and it worked great. Cons: I still haven't found a hard reset anywhere to make it power on again.
I bought this needing a dvd/vcr combo to be easily connected to my older tv (without the hassle of the RF modulator). It worked great... for a few years in fact... until a large electrical storm. A bolt of lightning hit my apartment complex and all of my other electronic equipment survived (including the other appliances plugged into the same surge strip), except for the dvd/vcr player. Unfortunately there was a dvd left in the drive which was a little difficult to get out. I will probably buy it again if it's still available. This time I'll just be sure all dvds and tapes are ejected once I'm finished watching them.
