Pros: Two tuners = good flexibility, clear picture and good price (even better now) Cons: Occasional screen irregularities, sometimes "buzzy" speakers, excessive weight, doesn't last very long
I bought this Sanyo HDTV for $697 at our local Wal-Mart and it was, for a while, a very satisfying purchase. That is, it was until it crapped out in early January 2008. It was less than three years old. For your convenience, I've left the original ...

Pros: Outstanding picture and sound quality. Easy to set up. Remote is easy to program. Cons: Heavy, but most Tube sets are heavy. Need a strong base to hold set.
After several months of looking at different reviews and reports on Flat Screen HDTV models, I centered on the Sanyo 32" TV. Looking at the HDTV User information on line pertaining to the 'good, better, best' TV's I came on the Sanyo. This TV has ...

Pros: 1080i, HDMI, 2 component inputs, digital tuner, and cheap. Cons: Unavoidable magnetic interference causes discoloration which may become "burned-in."
I purchased this TV set from Wal-Mart for about $700 in late '04 and was tremendously satisfied with the price and definition. To my disappointment, however, I noticed some vertical lines to the left-hand side of the screen that would not achieve a true ...

Bad experience
by lorettac296 ,Mar 30 '06
Pros: Good price for this kind of TV set. Cons: Picture and sound, not good.
I bought this TV almost a year ago. I have intermittent problems with it. Sometimes the screen goes really dark, and everything else in the picture is red. Then sometimes there are lines going across the screen that are slightly blurred. I also have the problem with the buzzing sound coming from the speakers. Yes, the price was great! But, I would not recommend this TV to anyone. I paid $750.00 for this TV at WalMart. My money is worth something that works properly.

Awesome TV for the money.
by beaumon ,Sep 15 '05
Pros: Built-in ATSC tuner, flat screen, lots of features for a low price. Awesome picture. Cons: Bulky and heavy, but what tube tv isn't?
Bought this at Wal-Mart for $647. It's single best feature is a built in ATSC HD tuner. I hooked it up to a rooftop antenna, hit channel scan, and got all my local channels perfectly in a couple of minutes. If you think DVD is nice, wait until you see a true 1080i broadcast. Nice onscreen and display features, decent remote control. It's also the first flat screen TV I've owned, and it has both a great picture, and looks nice and modern sitting on it's stand. I hooked up my DVD player through the component inputs and they look perfect. TV has an HDMI input, but my player doesn't have an HDMI output.
I think I'll get many years of service out of it.

Image problem
by pkefergus ,Aug 26 '06
Pros: HDTV - great picture when working correctly Cons: Problem just after warranty expired
Have to return :(
We bought it at Walmart because we wanted an HDTV and it was a good price and had good reviews from consumer reports.
We loved it until we had it about 14 months - when the picture started messing up - sometimes it is fine and sometimes it looks like the image is smeared - the problem comes and goes when the TV is on - sometimes the smeared image is only for a few minutes sometimes until we get tired of looking at it and we turn it off -usually comes on looking OK - but may work fine for a couple of hours or may mess up after being on a few minutes. Called Sanyo - they said it is a Known issue and to return the TV to Walmart for a refund and even though it is out of warranty they will give Walmart a full credit.
