Pros: Um...I’m thinking... Cons: Unnecessary, lazy, repugnant, dull, filmmaking style
An autopsy on the body of tricksy serial killer Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) reveals a tape recorder inside his stomach, left for agent Costas Mandylor, leading to the discovery of the body of fellow agent Dina Meyer. Anyhoo, none of that really matters, because ...

Pros: Some new ideas and angles, In general not too bad Cons: Still needs new ideas, pretty repetitive, too many characters
I like the Saw series, or at least ever since I saw the first one I have been interested in watching the sequels. Unfortunately the series has been declining since the second one and I figured it would only get worse. Luckily Saw 4 proves to be better ...

Pros: not a skilled movie, but made with enthusiasm and regard for dignity Cons: well, the usual; if you don't want to see a gore movie, don't see this.
If anyone calls the Saw series "torture porn," one of the most tiresome phrases to enter into criticism in a while, they're talking out of ignorance. Far from glorying in unpleasant and gratuitous violence with no "substance," these movies deal so ...

Pros: Entertaining, great editing, more unique "contraptions" from Jigsaw! Cons: Confusing, too much going back and forth between scenes.
I'll admit it; I've been a faithful fan of the "Saw" series of movies since they first came out. The first one was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. It revolved around a man named Jigsaw who put people into their own twisted "game", which ...

Pros: The past Cons: The present
The rest of the movie-watching world is gearing up for the big Oscar-bait movies of the year, but me, I would rather talk about Saw IV. I think its far more interesting. The Saw series is of course the most prominent and successful ...

Pros: Good FX and if you're into torture, there's lots of it Cons: Not suspenseful, interesting or even remotely plausible
The Saw movies always feature people stuck in terrible trap in which to survive, they must go through excruciating torture. The latest installment in the series, Saw IV, is one of these traps itself, in which you will either suffer through 95 ...

Pros: Jigsaw's opening autopsy. Cons: Everything else.
I got myself into this bloodlusty viewing mood by watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre on IFC last Friday. Lord, how I have adored this little movie. Purely by accident, Tobe Hooper & Co. created one of the most creepily effective slasher flicks ...

Pros: Really excellent editing Cons: Weak plot
With a near endless supply of stand-ins, the Saw franchise can run at least as long as the Rocky series. If you make it, they will comewhen this fails then the franchise will go the way of stores like Bombay total liquidation. ...

Pros: Interesting story with some good twists and gore. Cons: Not quite as intense or gruesome as the last movies.
Maybe it’s because after four films, I’m becoming a bit desensitized to the graphic brutality of the Saw movies, or maybe it’s because this installment is more of a pseudo-prequel then it is an outright cringe worthy gorefest. Either way, it just didn’t ...

Pros: It has all the elements that are great about the first three. Cons: It got a little confusing at times.
This was very surprisingly good. I figured there was absolutely no way that a fourth horror movie could be good. This movie had a lot of the same elements from the first three, but included the rest of the back story behind the main killer. I always ...

Pros: Explained a lot from the first 3 movies.
Cons: seemed like they were reaching to end this one.
I have been a fan of these movies since the beginning, so when I saw this one out and purchased it...I was ready. Ready to try and figure out this bloody whodunit. I sat down and was greeted by an autopsy. It was very graphic and gross...all the ...

A New Age for Jigsaw
by marie1963 ,Nov 06 '07
Pros: Eye catching, and shocking Cons: Acting, pacing is not at its best.
If it's gore, torture, and murder that fancy your taste than you'll enjoy Lionsgate's newest release of "Saw IV". Among the 4 Saw installments I must say this is the most chilling, and best delivered antics of murder, gore, and kidnapping. However, don't look for the best acting performances by this cast, or the best pacing you won't get it. "Saw IV" delivers a good storyline of murder, torture, and plenty of gore and a vivid appearance by Tobin Bell who portrays the Jigsaw killer.
After watching this long awaited sequel, I wasn't disappointed in this 4th installment of "Saw" Jigsaw and his accomplice Amanda are dead. Jigsaw is now on the slab (autopsy bed), and he leaves behind a cassette tape outlining his hideous legacy of murder, and more deaths to come. His ex-wife reveals his origins. We actually learn what made him a hideous serial killer.
"Saw" fans can look forward to lots of gore, and exceptionally made gadgets of torture, more torture traps, and chambers planned by Jigsaw to entice their desire to be entertained, and shocked at the unexpected.
