Pros: Power and large cutting width = quick work Cons: Width of cutting deck, over use of safety devices
Having previously owned a Scotts riding mower I decided to take a chance on them again. My (smaller) riding mower had the Scotts name but was made by MTD, makers of Murray lawn mowers. It worked well for several years, with a few malfunctions. Most ...
Pros: Plenty of horsepower, quality grass cutting, maneuverable, good sized cutting deck, ground breaking attachments Cons: Design flaw in attaching rear bracket for sleeve hitch, Customer service knowledge
In my opinion this is one of the most versatile garden tractors on the market for the money. We built a home on several acres of land and I plan on landscaping about 2 1/2 acres. Similar tractors with the ability to hook on ground breaking attachments...
Pros: Mower cuts well and does not scallop the lawn. Cons: very poor brakes, starter not strong enough to turn engine over properly, poor quality machine.
I purchased this Scott mower from HD 4 years ago. The machine is a constant maintenance item. I mow a little over 2 acres and the terrain is not steep. First it has never started correctly. It is a 16 HP Briggs Stratton. As I understand it the engine has ...
The Scotts company has once again impressed me with their garden tractor. This is the top of the line, gets no better than this, best for price tractor. Their manufactured by the John Deere company and there quality shows. The only thing that you...
Pros: lots of power, deck is beefed up deck easy to remove, turns on a dime Cons: sucks gas,has 2 solenoids(1 failed on me already)idler pullys should hold up better, seat is cheap
Ive had my scotts john deer for 4 years now and Ive had some problems that my buddy who has the exact same tractor had. seems everytime I would shut off the engine it would backfire, then one day blue smoke came out and could not even ride it with out ...
Pros: This tractor is the best. Reliable is the best word for it. Cons: nothing...
I've had mine now 7 years and this tractor is nothing short of the best. Never has broken down and powerful (25hp). I cut about an acre and a half of grass every week. I can run it through tall weeds and it never fails. Can't say enough about this tractor. If you can get your hands on one, buy it. In 2000 I paid about $4700 out the door from home depot. Worth every penny.
Pros: Cuts the grass. Cons: Kohler enginer is a piece of junk.
Bought new in 2000 from Home Depot. The 25HP Kohler engine has been a maintenance nightmare. It leaked oil out of the valve cover from day one due to the gasket being misaligned. The carberator would constantly get clogged with grit even after replacing the fuel filter several times. (I finally fixed the carb problem by installing a diesel type automotive filter). The magnets inside the flywheel all came loose, causing the charging system to fail and shorting out the regulator. A head gasket blew out and had to be replaced. All this in less than 500 hours runtime. It's advertised to be able to drive a snow blower, but the traction is pathetic due to the simplistic design of the transmission, my golf cart gets better traction. The rest of the tractor is what you would expect from a typical consumer level unit, nothing great but it works however I will never buy anything with a Kohler engine in it again.
