Mattress shopping does not fall into my area of “expertise”! Up until 2 years ago, I had been sleeping on a waterbed for many years. I got a Queen Size waterbed as a Christmas gift from my parents when I was in 6th grade. And I’ve been sleeping on it...

Who is it saving my back for???? by amymommy ,Aug 31 '04
Pros: It was inexpensive. Cons: Terrible for backs!!!!
My husband and I bought a Sealy Backsaver Queen Sized Mattress and Boxsprings set when we got married. We have been trying to sleep on this bed for about a year and a half now and it is the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. His side of the bed has a huge permanent indention and my back has been killing me!!!. I have never had back problems in my life and I now I have to go to the Chiropractor 2 times a week. I can't wait till we save up enough money for a new bed.
Unpleasant experience wit sealy back saver mattress by lotus0111 ,Jan 14 '06
Pros: brand name, looks great. Cons: no back support, saggy
We couldn't wait to get rid of the back saver mattress after We purchased it for week. It is durable if it is just for me. But it is a nightmare if both me and my husband slept on it. I'm 130 pounds. my husband weighs twice as much as I do. So if he came to the bed, the bed form to a ditch. As he slept in the ditch, I slept on a slope. There was no flat space to slept on it. So every morning, My husband would wake up with back ache and I would complain to him about anther sleepless evening. Thank god, I sold my bed for half price to somebody who is much light weight.
After paying over $2000 for our Sealy mattress at Mattress Discounters, to say that we are disappointed would be a gross understatement. Even after the supposedly "initial break-in period" my wife and I wake up every morning with chronic backaches. After only a few days, the area that we lay on now has a permanent sag providing no back support. After contacting Sealy, I received a letter stating that they did not warrant their products and any consideraton would have to be resolved at the store level. The store offered no assistance or consideration for this mattress. I strongly recommend against purchasing any Sealy product, not only because of the product itself, but also because of a company that will not stand behind their product nor assist in resolving customer complaint issues.
Terrible after about 4 months by justamomma2002 ,Sep 11 '09
Pros: none Cons: Sagging and uncomfortable
We had bought the Sealy back saver last June we loved it in the store and then about 4 months ago my shoulders just killed me when I would wake up. I am only 25 and in perfect health but this bed was beating me up. Now its starting to sag
Pros: When you first get this bed, feels like Heaven! Cons: After about two years, get ready to purchase another bed!
I had a bed 12 years before I bought the sealy backsaver pillowtop bed. I purchased the Sealy back in 2007. This bed felt like I was sleeping on air! It was great! My back no longer hurt. I went to sleep without tossing and turning. At the beginning of 2009, I noticed a difference in my bed that I had loved from the minute I layed in it, my bed started to sag in the middle! Im not very heavy. I am the only person who sleeps in my bed. There's no reason for my bed to be sagging after only 2 1/2 years! And to top it off, it cost me $1200! I work in a hair salon, and often compare notes on purchases. I also found out that there were others who purchased a Sealy pillowtop, and their beds also sunk! Wow! Im getting myself a regular bed and it won't be a Sealy!
