Seeds of Yesterday: Andrews Proves The Proverb True

by keithpruitt keithpruitt is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Books, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 26 '04
Pros: Carefully crafted to maximize the pain
Cons: The injury of Jory seems too cruel.
The proverb says, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. V. C. Andrews’ last book in the Dollanganger series, Seeds of Yesterday certainly proves the adage true. This book, written with a manuscript left after Andrews’ ...

Beating A Dead Horse

Pros: The drama between Jory and Melodie,
Cons: Rehash of the same old story from the firstthree novels,lameCindy/Bart saga, characters aren't multifaceted, rushed conclusion.

Back to Foxworth Hall

Pros: Action; drama; some surprises.
Cons: Excessive hatred, violence, and profanity.

Save the Best for Last
by heather10173 ,Mar 23 '08
Pros: Everything!
Cons: The fact that it ended!
First and foremost, I am a V.C. Andrews fan. None of her series touched me as much as Flowers in the Attic. The best book of the series is that of Seeds of Yesterday.

In in, we find Cathy and Chris in their 50's. The children, of course, are all grown up. While I won't spoil the plot for you, I will tell you that out of the rest of the Flowers in the Attic series, this one is the most emotional and heartbreaking.

Wording that is used in Seeds of Yesterday is extremely powerful. Since it is in Cathy's words....it makes you feel like you are finally are Cathy.

As I said before...this book is very emotional. The climax at the end for me was draining. I cry each time I read it.

What I loved about it was that while it didn't answer many questions, it did produce a fitting closure on Chris/Cathy.

What I hated about it was that it was over! :)
