Pros: each side adjustable Cons: Hot and uncomfortable
We bought this mattress because of the extensive Paul Harvey advertising.
We had always had a traditional mattress and thought this might be more comfortable for both of us.
We both disliked it immediately, even though we tried it for about...
Pros: TOTAL FRAUD...STAY AWAY!!! Cons: TOTAL FRAUD...STAY AWAY!!!
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM>>>READ THE REVIEWS AND STAY AWAY We needed a new mattress and my wife found the Select Comfort Store. She bought the top of the line reclining king with all the bells and whistles. I think it was close to $6000 ...
My husband and I purchased this bed for our daughter whos 5 it was the perfect Christmas present she needed a new bed we needed a extra bed for our other daughter.
I priced beds for her all over town the cheapeast for the value was $1000 ...
Pros: I didn't find any. I didn't sleep better and I tried many of the settings. Cons: The cost, the comfort, the 30 day trial cost!
Ok, I've been researching mattresses for awhile now and looking to buy. I have purchase 2 stearns and foster in the last 6 years and neither did my back any good. I saw the infomercials on the select comfort. I wasn't convinced, but went to the store ...
Pros: two different sleep levels and it is light Cons: warranty is misleading and unfair
I have had our bed for 2.5 years. We were very careful to ask about the warranty and the pump and were assured they were covered for 20 years....well that is only partly true. After two years, the bed and warranty are prorated. That means that after 2 ...
Pros: adjusbles i suppose Cons: see above everything from price to comfort and quality
I purchased my select comfort bed in 2005 and have regretted it everyday since. You can adjust the firmness of each side but:-then one side is lower and you roll over- the sides broke down in less than a year when sitting on the edge to get out ...
Pros: Efficient setting up, comfortable for a 2 week period. Cons: Overpriced and overglorified air bed. Misleading warranty, bed leaks, pump in store is not noisy.
I first purchased this bed in 2007. If I knew then what I know now, I would of kept going. The delivery and setup was not bad. I tried all settings from 35-75. It took about a month. I decided on a 55, and did not check the ...
Overpriced camping air bed by scambusters ,Oct 06 '06
Pros: Proceeds from sales allow a salesperson's family to feed? Cons: 20 year warranty is rubbish, much like this product.
Spend that thousand bucks on a good old fashioned quality coil mattress instead! 40 dollars will get you a good quality Coleman camping air bed if you really want to try one of these out.
It seemed OK for the first couple of months (you only get 30 days to try it out and return it- I kept mine longer thinking that maybe I just wasn't used to it yet), but then it starts to sag and parts begin to deteriorate. Although they'll happily send you packing foam to fill in gaps between mattresses, or to level off mattresses that tilt towards the center, don't expect them to honor that 20 year warranty! Mine is only 2 years old and they won't take the defective mattresses back or allow a trade in- nothing but "We'll send you more foam slabs to bolster the sags and hollows"
They'll say they're sorry they can't help you, but you'll be the one who's sorry if you get one of these.
Beware before you purchase this bed! by tampa1 ,Aug 22 '09
Pros: None Cons: Body impressions. Select Comfort does not back their own product.
We have had our 9000 King since March 2007. We spent the $5,000 on 9000 model beucase we were told this is THE BEST bed and they would guarantee it. We only wanted to buy 1 good bed that would last us a very long time. NOT the case. Since then, I have called Select Comfort to report issues 23 times. Now, we are at our wits end with this bed as I feel like we were ?duped? with some of the issues this bed has. Shoulder and back pain every morning. BODY Impressions with a HUMP in the middle of the bed. To fix we have: 1- have had the pillow top replaced due to it flattening out 2- have had a new pump 3- have had foam sent to us since from day 1 we have body impressions
We are not over weight so should not have body impressions. Select Comfort might give a warranty on the motor but wants us to pay $900.00 for a defective pillow top. In other words, they do not back their own product because they know there are issues. Again - beware no matter what good reviews you read.
One disappointing purchase! by loghead ,Oct 20 '06
Pros: Relatively easy to carry this thing to the bedroom ;it comes in small boxes. Cons: Lots of sleepless nights spent thinking about how much you paid.
We've had our Select Comfort bed for over five years now. I think that length of time demonstrates enough patience with this product.
A certain radio talk show host used to pitch this product (maybe he still does). If he and his lovely, gracious ( and now ex) wife actually used this product, it's no wonder he was addicted to pain-killers.
Probably the most annoying feature about this mattress is the foam "french fry" that separates the two air chambers. This creates a "cliff", "gully" or "drop off" between the two sides of the bed. If you and your partner are the kind that like to cuddle when sleeping, you'd better pick a side or you're sleeping (or trying to sleep) in the ditch. The good news is that once you're exhausted enough, you will fall asleep.
I can use this product as a review subject for a college course I'm taking, so I guess it's not a total loss.....
Since we received our king-size Select Comfort Mattress our back pain has disappeared. We like the fact that we can each have the desired firmness for our sleeting comfort.
we love our selectcomfort mattress by mab011 ,Jan 16 '06
Pros: perfect night's sleep, adjustable to mood or medical conditions, Best bed out there Cons: Has become our cats and dogs favorite place to sleep.
We decided to try out a selectcomfort mattress after 3 months of no sleep with a tempurpedic mattress. The tempurpedic was perfect for my husband, but much, much to hard for me. Akin to sleeping on wet sand, very uncomfortable. My couch was my salvation for those three months. We received our selectcomfort mattree and I got one of the best night's sleep the very first night. I usually vary the softness on my side from 40 to 20 while my husband uses a sleepnumber of 70 to 80. Perfect for the both of us. I have really slept more comfortably and rarely wake during the night. Usually something else wakes me up, like the dogs barking.
The bed is so comfortable that our cats and small dog nap on it during the day instead of on the couch with us. I have to push them out of my spot at night so I can use the bed.
Pros: comfort, helped cure my back pain, amazingly deep sleep Cons: Pump is a little noisy but don't use it once you've set it.
This bed is awesome! I have owned it for 5 years now and have upgraded once to a 5000 now but still own the classic pillow top. This bed has cured my back pain and now I can finally sleep a good nights sleep. I urge you to not be like me and don't go cheap to start. I went cheap and fell in love then upgraded. Get the 5000 or 7000 to start. Although I now have the best extra bed for company and always get a conversation from family that stay over on it.
Pros: NONE! Cons: Bad hammock effect or just to hard.
For 5 years I'd had a $49.00 air bed. It was great. When it went I thought I'd move up to something better. I got a twin Select Comfort.
Big mistake.
First off the end pieces were to long - made the bed dog-bone shaped. I called and then sent new ones - even longer!
I spent 2 miserable nights trying to adjust this thing to be comfortable. There is no soft, only sag, like in a hammock. To get away from the hammock effect it has to be pumped up hard.
The air chamber is too small to have effective resilience.
It was just like the soft-side water bed I had, and I got two pressure point fatty tumors from that one.
I did not try to send it back. It sits in the box in a corner. I thought of just giving it away, but that would be cruel.
King size Dreamaire comfortaire cerenity series bed by ridgemd ,Jan 17 '06
Pros: Sleeps well Cons: Crappy air pump, and bed will leak air in less than 4 years.
The pump breaks in less than 4 years, and the bed started to leak.
Keep your receipt as you will need it.
Watch the pump air nozzles as they break off with very little pressure. They recommend you cut the hose off to check for leaks. You must do that, as mine just broke off.
