Doesn't improve with age

by eeniesmom , Jul 18 '09
Pros: Comfortable for about 3 years
Don't have to turn the mattress
Cons: Poorly made
Over priced
Poor customer service
Let me say that I am not a good sleeper. I have arthritis and it wakes me up often. We  had just purchased a new Beautyrest mattress and box spring and on the 5th year, I simply couldn't stand it any more. My husband insisted that we test drive ...

Select Comfort Warranty -Buyer Beware

by boterito , Nov 07 '08
Pros: Easy assembly.  Don't pay for in-home install.
Comfortable sleep with the bed retains air.
Cons: INTENTIONAL NON-DISCLOSURE OF WARRANTY TERMS.
WARRANTY IS FALSE ADVERTISING.
Purchased the bed under a supposed 20 yr. warranty.  At a 1 1/2 years, one of the two mattresses started to loose air over a 3 day period.  So for one day sleep would be ok, the second, sleep compromised, and third day motivated to ...

Select Comfort Air Pump Problems + Mold

by couchsleeper , Feb 20 '08
Pros: The bed is comfortable when it is working properly. The customer service is friendly.
Cons: Air pumps don't seem to be very durable and they must be repeatedly replaced.
have had a select comfort bed since Feb of 1995. I have had several problems with the pumps and with mold. I bought my bed just before they came out with the wireless remote, so about 6-9 months later they sent me the latest pump model which was part of ...

All the bad reviews really surprise me!

by stitchinthyme , Nov 07 '07
Pros: Very comfortable, great customer service
Cons: Regular frame squeaks a bit
My husband and I bought the "Elite" model (now renamed to the Sleep Number 4000) in queen size about 8 or 9 years ago, and the only bad thing we have to say is that the frame, made of plastic panels, squeaks a bit too much...oh, and we're so spoiled that ...

Find a different bed

by k_reviews , Jul 11 '07
Pros: Very comfortable initially and easy to transport
Cons: Comfort doesn't last long for the price tag
Everyone in my family has owned a select comfort bed. We own King, Queen and Twin sizes. We all loved them, and were very excited about them. After a few years of use 2 out of 4 of us have problems with them sinking in the middle. This is very ...

Select Comfort Still the Best

by ashlandellis , Jul 06 '07
Pros: No bounce between sides Separate adjustments,Light and easy to move, really comfortable
Cons: Expensive, hard to easily get one without a wait
We have had our select comfort bed for almost 7 years. My wife had a bad back and we first tried buying a $1200 "regular" mattress to see if it would help. It helped a little but then the issue of my "nighttime movement" became bigger. I move around a ...

Bad Product worse service.

by ebenordms , Jun 11 '07
Pros: Having an ajustable bed is nice.
Cons: If the bed doesn't work properly it's bad. Poor service
We bought two twin size adjustable beds with pillowtop mattresses in mid 2004. My husband slept on his until 2005 and the matterss was changed once during that time because of the sliding pillowtop. He is gone now, and his mattress had already begun to ...

Excellent for 15 years!

by ladyrorschach , Feb 28 '05
Pros: Comfortable, easy to set up, easy to use, individual comfort level controls.
Cons: Light weight mattress shifts easily when changing sheets.
We purchased a Select Comfort mattress 15 years ago because of back problems. Not only are the back problems gone, but it has improved our sleep. We ordered the cheaper model because it was all we could afford. No pillow top. No wireless remote ...

by denasalazar Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Mar 01 '04
Pros: Comfortable, easy assembly, guarantee, looks nice

Many parts replaced after just 5 years

by myopinion101 , Feb 22 '04
Pros: Comfort; Lightweight; Adjustable air chambers
Cons: Expensive; Mold; Squeaks; Requires EXTRA deep pocket sheets; Warranty NOT 100% as implied
I have to admit overall, this bed has been o.k. for us. I have to believe there is a better mattress out there especially for the cost! The hassle has been having to replace the pillow top layer once so far due to lumps and/or ridges forming that ...

AH, Sleep at last

by aztrainer , Jan 14 '04
Pros: Construction, Quality, Ability to adjust the firmness, I can sleep now
Cons: Price, Temperature Transfer from partner
A little history on the reason why I bought a Select Comfort 7000 Sleep Simmons King size. I had a Simmons Beautyrest Golden Anniversary Edition bed for about five years. In that time the beds developed a 5 inch (Yes, Five inches) indentation on my side ...

Great sleep, no pain, no disturbing your mate

by ldekay , Dec 07 '03
Pros: Great comfortable sleep, no disturbing your mate's sleep, no more back or hip pain.
Cons: Unnecessary add-ons raise the price too high.
Our basic 3000 King has been great. Our previous 4 year old, high quality traditional king mattress was killing our backs, hips and sleep, despite being turned regularly with great physical exertion. Just getting out of bed was a major pain. I started ...

love this bed

by icount_2 , Jun 11 '03
Pros: complete support for every inch
Cons: none
My husband and I can customize the firmness to our own needs. And, while I like mine softer, I tend to pump it up for watching tv, etc. before going to sleep. Then, a couple of touches of the button and it gently relaxes to my preferred softness. We...

Test before you buy!

by harveybl , Jun 09 '03
Pros: Comfortable when it works
Cons: Overpriced-Select number not accurate
My husband bought me my SelectComfort mattress for Christmas 2002. I initially was very happy with it. However, I find that the mattress is not accurate. If the mattress is too soft I get hip pain -- too firm and I get back pain. I wake up every...

AVOID THIS MATTRESS

by birtclp , May 24 '03
Pros: None - 100% rip off from snake oil salesman type company
Cons: Uncomfortable, eventually mattresses leak, TERRIBLE customer service, etc.
It's just like an inflatable mattress you might buy from Target, only not as comfortable and $1100 more expensive. This is possibly the single worst purchase I've ever made. The awful dip between the two air mattresses (not an isolated problem, see...
