NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

by k8is , Apr 09 '01
Pros: Adjustable air chambers.
Cons: Price, Quality, Customer Service, Return Process, Appearance.
I purchased the Imperial King Select Comfort "Sleep System" in December of 2000. It arrived at my home in eight boxes about one week later. I assembled the bed in about two hours. It was not extremely difficult, but was no where near effortless....

ZZzzzzzz

by jenni796 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 01 '00
Pros: easy to use, comfortable
Cons: noisy
My husband has severe back problems and has been sleeping on a recliner since he was 17. After we got married we began a search for a bed that he would be able to sleep on. We have tried almost every bed there is...waterbed, firm mattress, soft...

Our Select Comfort Imperial Seems Too Hot to Both of Us

by andyiec , Mar 11 '03
Pros: Good support lengthwise. Quick warm up in the winter. No flipping required. No heater required.
Cons: My bed came with an incorrectly cut pad. The foam bladder separator is noticeable.
We have had our Select Comfort bed for a few years now. We previously had a Kuss California King sized waveless water bed with a heater. The Kuss was nice in the winter, but the way it supported your body didn't seem to be conducive to good back ...

Try lifting your king size mattress by yourself. I can.

by squigsdad , Jul 14 '01
Pros: dual adjustable; great support; COMFORT; excellent customer service
Cons: you have to put it together, but it's easy
I was shocked to look at the epinions rating for the Select Comfort Imperial ratings and see that only 33% recommend it. This is the best thing I could ever imagine sleeping on. How could someone not like it!

Before buying the Select Comfort...

WARNING! This bed is NOT worth it!

by theheidis , Mar 12 '01
Pros: Adjustable firmness
Cons: PRICE, comfort, customer service, quality, appearance
Select Comfort is a terrible company, with less than quality merchandise & poor customer service.

Desperate for a waterbed alternative, and disappointed with average metal coil beds I had tried, I decided to try an air bed. I purchased the...

I Love my Bed

by calvin314 , Dec 22 '02
Pros: Ultra comfortable! Fairly easy to set up. No more backaches.
Cons: Instructions were confusing. Price is to high. Shipping charges to send it back extremely high.
I suffered from backaches on a daily basis because of my firm spring mattress. I usually had to get up because laying there too long would be too painful. Then I discovered the select comfort bed. I tried all of them while at the store. The last one...

"Worry-free Guarantee" is anything but

by do0881 , Jun 16 '05
Pros: Easy to lift
Cons: EXPENSIVE!!!!, very uncomfortable, unfriendly customer service, extremely difficult and costly to return
If I could go back and do ONE thing before buying this bed, it would have been to read some of these reviews and maybe see a different side of Select "Comfort" than is portrayed by the ever-chipper Lindsey Wagner on TV. First of all, I am a student, so ...

A bag of hot air.

by sbirchill , Jan 20 '05
Pros: None
Cons: Mold/uncomfortable/overpriced/poor customer service
I have had back problems for years, and I hear the adds about this bed on several well know radio shows. I went into our local mall and they had a showroom and my wife and I tried the bed in the showroom and it seemed comfortable. The salesperson kept ...

by daluqfam , Dec 22 '02
Pros: easy to install
Cons: over priced, not comfortable
I can not describe how dissappointed my wife and I are with our Select Comfort Mattress.

After the extensive sales pitch and the expensive purchase price we thought that we would enjoy quality sleep nights.

Up until as of late we...

Sorry I bought!

by dollyeliz , Jun 20 '02
Pros: lightweight, pillow top nice. Bought for MS patient's comfort
Cons: Working diff shifts, must readjust air for one/two sleepers, when crossing midline for comfort.
As I have MS and frequently find sleeping uncomfortable, we thought this mattress would be a great solution.
As my husband works rotating shifts, when only one of us is in the bed, we have to readjust the level of the absent person because the bed...

Sleep Comfort Bed

by eddiegoez , Dec 19 '06
Pros: Can't think of one right now.
Cons: Very expensive for what you get. Company does not stand by their product.
I bought my Select Comfort bed about 4 years ago, so from reading some of the stories maybe I should consider myself lucky to have at least having four years of not dealing with defective equipment. My problem deals with the air pump (firmness control ...

by mcrowley100 , Jun 03 '08
Pros: None
Cons: Back Pain, Poor quality
I purchased one of these (or it's predecessor) 5 years ago, and just found out the actual coverage terms on this product - the company wants me to pay almost 50% to replace the defective part, the entire top of the mattress. My problems with the ...

Cons: over priced, smelly, horrible customer service

Horrendous Customer Service

by quiedahc , Nov 05 '07
Pros: Mattress is comfortable and easy to use.
Cons: The company and customer service sets a new standard in sucking.
I took the time to write out the miles of hoops that I've been forced to jump through with this company, and realized that no one is going to care. Bottom line, the product is good, the customer service is a JOKE! I owned a bed for two years with no ...
