Select comfort warranty

by straightup44New Member , Nov 23 '09
Pros: Can adjust for personal comfort (short lived as it is).
Cons: Warranty is really useless! Only a sales tool!
We bought this bed thinking it was a high quality product with a great 20 year warranty.  It was great for a few years and then we began to have issues with it.  Foam underneath mattress topper is completely flat mattress top flat as well. ...

Poor Customer Service, Product and Warranty

by susanherz , Oct 23 '09
Pros: When it works, it is quite comfortable (a conventional mattress is also quite comfortable).
Cons: Poor quality, misleading warranty, poor customer service.
We purchased our queen size select comfort sleep number mattress as an expensive option in our brand new motorhome and have not been happy with the mattress or the customer service.  We are on our third issue and have not been able to get an ...

Its A Scam

by joeanderssen , Oct 04 '09
Pros: None
Cons: It's a scam
Yes - its a scam and here is why:The Innovation lie: The advertising for this system suggests some kind of innovation in sleep systems. It suggest that the traditional inner spring system has been replaced with a sophisticated system that used air to ...

The worst nights sleep ever

by kr91513 , Aug 04 '09
Pros: Very good customer service
Cons: Gives you severe back and neck pain
I have owned the sleep number bed for two weeks. I am now sleeping in my guest room until my new spring mattress bed arrives. I paid $160 to have my Sleep Number delivered and installed. The first couple of nights were ok trying to find the "right sleep ...

Bed is cheaply made junk and customer service is worse.

by jaglover52 , Aug 03 '09
Pros: None.
Cons: Cheaply made product.
Over-hyed from marketing standpoint.
One of worst Customer Service experiences ever.
My wife and I purchased a 7000 Queen Dual Chamber Sleep Number bed from a store here in Charlotte, NC in March 2007. In less than 3 months, the pump failed and Customer Disservice shipped us a new pump.  The bed worked reasonably well ...

Cons: Plan on bed failures & addl. cost to keep bed operating.Inflexible customer service after purchase.
We have been very happy with our Select Comfort bed and the quality of sleep.  UNTIL  One month after the  2 year warranty period had passed and the left and right wired remote controls digital display would no ...

Hills and Valleys

by tvino , May 02 '09
Pros: Courteous folks to deal with and "select comfort" for about 10% of the warranty period.
Cons: Expensive, degrading design. Hills and valleys develop.
My wife and I (both traditionalists) decided to take a chance on a sleep number bed (dual chambers), based upon the compelling TV ads.  After plunking down more than $2K our bed arrived and was courteously and professionally set up. No issues with ...

No Service Department, You do Your Own Repairs

by reecy , Apr 27 '09
Pros: Fairly comfortable (at first, UNTIL there is a problem with the bed.)
Cons: Parts do not last long and the company does not repair them. You do repairs.
We bought a Sleep Comfort 5000 about 16 months ago. It was very comfortable at first but within less than six months we had to have the sidewalls replaced because they collapsed and did not support the air chamber. We were sent the air chambers to ...

Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed - not what it seems. Company leaves you hanging!

by nothwestlx , Apr 03 '09
Pros: Compact & Lightweight for when you are ready to take it to the dump.
Cons: Too many to list - see write up.
You have seen the TV ads about this air mattress bed - Yes you can select a firm setting while your partner selects a soft setting or vice versa.  But, if one person sleeps firm & the other soft - the firm side is so high - that you either roll ...

Sleep Number Bed: An Aviators Dream

by johnjacob1971 , Mar 16 '09
Pros: Bed is comfortable, adjustable and chiropratically approved. Outstanding service.
Cons: Not the cheapest, but well worth it.
I've been married 55 years. As a pilot I've slept on every continent on this world. I've always bought the best mattress price was no object yet they kept wearing out. In addition, there were some conditions and nights that I wanted a softer or firmer ...

Total rip-off

by tutty12345 , Mar 14 '09
Pros: I don't see any
Cons: Constant back pain
The sleep number bed is just a glorified aero mattress. Honestly, you would be better off if you buy a cheap aero mattress and spend another $100 for a pad on top of it. Seriously, I watched them assemble the bed and to my amusement I discovered ...

What a disaster

by dtellingya , Feb 02 '09
Pros: None
Cons: Overpriced, uncomfortable, lousy customer service, ripoff
Tried the sleep number bed in the showroom, it seemed ok, and with a 30 day "free" return policy it seemed like there was nothing to lose.  Boy were we wrong!  The bed was awful.  We'd set it to our sleep number, around 45-50.  Some ...
