THE GOOD AND THE BAD

by epiniongirl , Mar 21 '07
Pros: Soft yet supportive, comfortable
Cons: Prorated warranty, customer service needs slight improvement, high priced, flat pillowtop
I have been sleeping on a Sleep Number Bed now for over 7 years. I originally bought a king size (when I was married) and now have a queen size. My opinion in the beginning was nothing but pure satisfaction. Now for the last couple years not so much so. ...

Fits Our Needs Superbly

by karinf23 , Sep 24 '04
Pros: separate adjustable sides with smooth transition between, lightweight, quiet pump with number settings
Cons: expensive, doesn't get quite firm enough for someone who likes a very, very firm mattress
My husband and I purchased a queen-sized Sleep Number 5000 mattress in March of this year. This web site was extremely helpful in making that decision and I want to give back by posting a review myself, particularly because I have a few comments that I ...

My husband likes it - I'm not thrilled

by dmsr2000 , Dec 01 '03
Pros: Adjustable for each person, doesn't have to be flipped and has a 20 year warranty.
Cons: Price. Components appear cheap. Mattress is hot.
My husband first heard about this mattress when listening to a radio talk show host rave about his sleep number bed. Our mattress was getting pretty worn and we were not getting as good a sleep as we had before. The concept of the select comfort bed ...

Personal experience with Select Comfort

by kitagrl , Jun 11 '07
Pros: Good customer service.
Cons: Bed just was not comfortable at all for us.
The Sleep Number bed is actually what brought me to this site most recently, and is what made me decide to join Epinions! The following experience with this bed/company will be written as factual as possible. We have a good friend who has had his ...

Glorified air mattress

by cjp75 , Jul 29 '05
Pros: no flipping, easy to use
Cons: flimsy parts, just an air mattress
I have the 5000 model extended queen sized bed. Seemed great in the store, but actually sleeping on it (as opposed to laying on it for 10 minutes) was a much different. First, let me comment on the installation. I was flabbergasted when I saw them ...

Select Comfort 5000 Sleep Number Bed - What I Wish I Had Known BEFORE Purchasing!

by beespajamas , May 02 '07
Pros: Returnable (though costly to do!)
Cons: Thirty day trial period is far from "free" Way overpriced - glorified air mattress
If only I had known what a hassle (and how expensive) it would be to "try" this bed for 30 days, I would never have done it (and I went the cheapest way possible...setting it up myself and taking it down, stuffing it back into the original boxes, and ...

This bed is quite literally a PAIN

by janejanejane , May 20 '08
Pros: The bed is light weight; it's easy to make up.
Cons: Cheap construction, bad engineering, uncomfortable beyond words.
Last night I read through the reviews of the Select Comfort bed-- a life-changing event as it turns out. I want to thank Epinions for this forum, and everyone who wrote reviews of this bed. If you are considering a Select Comfort bed, please read all of ...

Heaven or...

by chetldr , May 19 '07
Pros: Easy to adjust, clean, move and setup
Cons: Not for couples, expensive
You'll either love it or hate it, guaranteed. This is a neat idea that fails in the premise of providing each individual a perfect night sleep. I like the bed a lot and have yet to wake up with back pain as I have on any other mattress I've slept on. ...

Expensive bed, but great sleep.

by kodos78 , Oct 06 '06
Pros: Best sleep we've had. Can adjust the bed to your moods. Independent adjustment.
Cons: Expensive! Materials MUCH cheaper than cost of bed. Not great for stomach or side sleepers.
My wife and I had been sleeping on a Seally Queen mattress that she had bought before we were married (about 5 years ago). Two pregnancies later, and my wife had been experiencing some severe back pains in the morning. Even though I could sleep on a log, ...

I really, really wanted it to work for me (sigh).

by sillysarahc123 , Sep 11 '06
Pros: Easy assembly, good idea (in theory), fast delivery. Turns out it's easy to return too.
Cons: Really expensive and just not comfortable.
UPDATE: Oct. 9, 2006 Just wanted to update this review to note that returning this bed was exceptionally easy and painless. About 3 weeks into my 30 day trial I called and told the people at Select Comfort that the bed caused me back pain and that I ...

After 7 years, still hate it. UPDATE Black Mold!

by shamrockmommy , Dec 19 '05
Pros: It was nice the first few years.
Cons: The foam pieces deteriorate, roll toward the center, fall off the sides. Now MOLD problem.
We purchased a sleep number bed 7 years ago. It is a queen wiht a pillow top. The first few years it slept pretty well. In fact, I used to say it ruined my night's sleep if we slept anywhere else (travelling). We've had to replace the air pump. the ...

Pros: Comfortable, quiet pump, expanded queen fits std queen wood frame and is roomy
Cons: Pillowtop on this closeout model is sometimes hot

Tried a Sleep Number Bed at Radisson Hotel

by gummyroach , Jun 12 '06
Pros: Very Comfortable, looks just like a normal bed. Controls are easy to use.
Cons: Air pump is just a bit noisy, bed takes some getting used to.
I do not yet own one of these beds, but thought I'd give you a review of my initial reaction after having slept on one for a night. A little about myself: I'm a single Male, age 41. I'm just shy of 6 feet tall, and weigh close to 300 lbs. Some ...
