SELECT COMFORT SLEEP NUMBER BED. SKIP IT! JUNK! by sleepnumber ,Dec 08 '07
Pros: Nice to adjust the air level, but that's about it. Cons: Its surprisingly thin. Sleep didn't get any better AND it cost 450 to return!
I bought a sleep number 5000 select comfort bed. I was divorced and needed a new bed, I saw some commercials and decided to get it. IT IS JUNK, absolutely flimsy piece of junk. It is nothing more than a hyped up air mattress. Don't believe me, watch them put it together, its made out of an air mattress and that egg shell foam crate stuff. I decided to return it with the 30 day money back guarantee. Listen, It costs $450.00 JUST TO RETURN IT! BUT GUESS WHAT! It was worth it to PAY $450 to return it. DON'T GET IT!!
Pros: adjustable Cons: No cuddles, no comfort, was never firm enough
Was very dissapointed with King bed. We could not take the barrier between the two chambers and returned. The return process was horrible. They kept convincing us to try the bed longer, when we finally arranced for a pick up, they cancelled on us. When they came the second time, they broke our bed frame. Select Comfort said that the broken bed frame is not their problem. Would not reccommed to anyone that likes to move around in their bed.
I switched from a memory foam mattress (which was a bad matterss) to a Slect Comfort 5000. The ordering process, deliver and set up was a breeze. I spent weeks trying to find my ideal number and spent many nughts exploring each number 50, 55, 60,65...90, 95. I'm a side sleeper and each number made me feel like I was sleeping in a hammock. If you've ever tried to sleep on your side in a hammock you'll know what I mean. Each monring I awoke with terrible back pains and it took the better part of the day to straighten myself up. After 4 months I switched back to an inner-spring and all my back problems disappeared in less than a week. After trying both a memory foam and a Sleep number I can homestly say, an inner-spring is the best option for a side sleeper like me.
Sleep Number Bed-not worth it? by emora ,Sep 06 '09
Pros: Easy for a stomach sleeper. Cons: 30 day trial-silly. Lack of sturdiness. Expensive.
About six months ago, in the search for a good night's sleep, my husband and I purchased a Sleep Number bed. Yes, it has the 30 day free trial, but it takes longer than 30 days to get used to sleeping on it. Four days ago, my husband's side deflated in the middle of the night, resulting in a very bad night's sleep. He thought it might be the pump or the hose, so he switched that to the other side. I slept downstairs, on a rock hard futon, so he could get some sleep. His side deflated again. So, it's the mattress. Neither my husband or I weigh 1000 pounds (not even together), so I will be interested in the response from the company. Of course, since it is Labor Day weekend, they closed early on Friday, and will be happy to assist us Tuesday morning, when my exhausted husband gives them a jingle!
Pros: extremely comfortable Cons: What to do with an expensive memory foam mattress?
Last year I bought a memory foam pillowtop mattress and have woken up with morning back pain ever since. A week ago I bought a top of the line sleep number bed and have woken up rested and pain free. Can't beleive I had to suffer for over a year because of a mattress. Thanks sleep number for giving me the best night sleep ever. Stevan Fry Dade City Fl.
