Pros: It looks nice Cons: May HURT you; may COST you; leaks; has hard edges, foam tears, becomes misshapen.
In June 2007 I purchased the Sleep Number 5000 and set it on the number that I was comfortable with while at the store. The first night my back felt like it had a metal rod shoved into my spine. I awoke at 3 am in severe pain. I did the recommended 3 ...

Pros: Very well made. Comfortable. Customer service is superb!! Cons: Higher end products can be expensive.
We've owned our Select Comfort Elite Series mattress - the forerunner of the Sleep Number bed - since 1997. We find it to be very comfortable, and ours has been quite trouble free when compared to the last two traditional mattresses we owned. Both of ...

Pros: Super Comfortable once your find your "Sleep Number" -- Great Sleep Cons: We can't take it with us when we travel.
When we upgraded from a queen-size bed to a king-size, my husband talked his then-pregnant wife into "just looking" at the Select Comfort store in our local mall. Well, put a pregnant gal on any mattress that she might be able to sleep on without 15 ...

Pros: It was nice and firm when inflated Cons: Defective!
I purchased the sleep number 5000 last August and now have what allot of the other people out here have; A sagging bed that wont keep it's number. I have been through two foundations and four controllers, all to no avail. At present I do not even sleep ...

Pros: Ability to change the Firmness of the Bed Cons: Pricey!
My husband and I bought this bed a several weeks ago. I am 5'2" and my husband is about 6'0" We have spent about 4 years looking at different mattresses and didn't know whether we should choose between the Memory Foam Type Mattress or Sleep Comforts, ...

Pros: Comfortable bed, in the in-store trial. Decent diversifications between models. Cons: Warning: Customer Service very poor after the sale. Posts on this and other boards concur.
Suggestions for Select Comfort: - Find some way to schedule your bed deliveries when ordered. At least then the customer will know when to expect the darned thing and can plan around the dates! - At a minimum - retrain employees and reinforce ...

Pros: Great sleep. Lasts a long time. Best for side and back sleepers. Cons: Won't cure sleep disorders.
I have had a select comfort 5000 king size mattress since 1998. My wife had pain in her hips and lower back for over two years at the time I bought it and within one week she noticed the pain went away and stayed away. I have seen other reviewers ...

Pros: You can each have a different setting Cons: Air bladders don't retain their numbers!
This bed is way too expensive. The two week delivery time is too long when other beds are delivered same day. The air bladders don't retain their number. We were constantly fiddling with the remote control in the middle of the night because of ...

Pros: None Cons: Everything
I have wanted a sleep number bed for the last two years because of the way the comercials make it sound. Well I got one this week, last night was my 2nd night sleeping on it. This morning I have lower back pain and Im stiff as a board and I slept on the ...

Pros: Works well for a limited time. Cons: Overpriced & very unreliable.
I purchased a Select Comfort 5000 queen size bed less than 3 years ago thinking it would be more comfortable than a typical innerspring mattress. For the first few months it really was fine. I found my perfect number to be 40 & was getting a good night ...

Pros: We sleep better and wake with fewer aches and pains. Cons: We haven't found any down side to our bed.
We did not realize what a difference a bed could make in our health. We got to sleep so much faster. We slept deeper through the night. We woke up feeling refreshed-like we actually had a great night's sleep-and with much less aches and pains. I'd...

Pros: The side that does work is decent. We have had no problems with it. Cons: Basically, it's a glorified air mattress. Outrageously over-priced. A rip-off.
My wife and I ordered a Sleep Number 5000 series king bed in fall of 2005. We have had nothing but problems with one side of it almost every year since then. First, the mattress started to sag after about 18 months. We called Select Comfort to ...

Pros: None that I can think of. Cons: Too expensive, unpredictable number changes
We bought a Select Comfort 5000 (queen-size) bed about 2 years ago. I wasn't terribly impressed with it, but my husband seemed to like it. So, instead of following instinct and returning it, we kept it, much to my back's undoing. I developed a severe ...

Pros: I am still looking for one. Cons: Overpriced, overrated, and poor, poor "free trial" advantage.
After 20 years, we decided to catch up with the 21st century and buy a new style of bed. What a horrible mistake! I might as well have stuck with the old water beds that swept the country! This bed is way overpriced, way overrated, and way under ...

Pros: Company backing of it's product.
Dual Controls Cons: Cost, I agree with everyone it is a little costly.
I have to say that although the bed may not resolve all the issues it claims on TV, I am very happy with the product and the backing of the company. First, my boyfriend and I love the dual controls. He, is a tall large guy and likes his side firm ...
