Pros: PROVEN Water & sweat RESISTANT/PROOF. Will NOT pop out of your ears while running. Cons: Pricey - but worth it! High bass value, but all music seems balanced (volume).
UPDATE!!!!!! Ran the Ottawa Marathon on May 27, 2007 with the Sennheiser PMX 70 headphones. Started out cloudy, but the forecast called for rain...about 40 minutes after the start the rain came. Although the weather varied between a sprinkle and a ...
Pros: Waterproof, longer cord, great sound Cons: A little stiff and take some time to get used to the fit and placement
I've been searching for the perfect running headphones. I just started running this year - for the Nike Half Marathon in October. I have a small head/ears so the in ear headphones pop out while running.. sadly, I also sweat profusely ... so "waterproof" ...
Pros: Nice sound, efficient, and STAY IN THE EARS with no worries at all. Cons: Insulation on wire splits after repeated use for running. Also, some might find them uncomfortable.
Shortly after breaking down and purchasing an iPod Nano 2G - largely for use at the gym and for running, it became apparent to me that the stock iPod earphones were not going to do the job: I'd be working every minute and a half to keep the things in my ...
Pros: Stays put! Good sound Cons: Can hurt your ears/head
I have been using a pair of Shure earbuds for a while, but even though the sound is great (once you get the earbud shells figured out) they kept falling out when I jogged on the treadmill/track. I did some research and decided that I wanted some sport ...
Pros: Doesn't fall out of your ears
Cord doesn't get in your way Cons: Pricey - but worth it.
Headphone jack is weirdly shaped.
I got these headphones for Christmas because I have been looking for a good pair of head phones to use with running. Previously I have tried the ipod buds which fall out too much, even with over-ear modifications. I tried a pair of skullcandy in-ear ...
Perfect mp3 player companion by frankvel ,Dec 28 '06
Pros: Light-weight, easy to wear, no force required and the WOW factor. Cons: You can have any colour you like as long as it's green?
The drawback of most mp3 players is definately the earphones. I like my music and decided not to go the mp3 path due mainly to the lack of a good light-weight earphone that didn't need to be forced into the ear cavity to keep from dropping out or to get a reasonable sound. I picked up a free mp3 player through a promotion recently and tried using it for a couple weeks only to be dissapointed by the hassle presented by the included ear-phones. Then my wife bought me a pair of the PMX70s.
Light-weight, easy to wear, and the sound has that something you rarely find in an item of this size..... "The WOW Factor".
If you're into sound on the move but don't want to compromise on quality, buy the MPX70s and enjoy.
Long Distance runner who loves these headphones!! by r-train ,Jul 29 '08
Pros: Great sound, durable, cord is only on one side Cons: after a year, the metal earpieces started to rust a little.
I am a long distance runner (I run Ultra marathons)and love these headphones. I sweat a lot as well and have never had a problem with the cord breaking down due. My current pair is on it's last leg, I have had them for a year and some change and sound in the right earphone is fading. So it is time for a new pair. I was considering trying another type in the Sennheiser Sport line, but i am sticking with these. Mainly b/c i can put them around my neck w/o having to worry about them falling all over the place.
I have ABUSED these earphones. They have been on 35 mile runs in the pouring rain, runs in the snow and ice, 25 mile runs in 100 degree weather and to the gym. The sound is great for the $.
Pros: great sound, rests on ear securely, doesn't hurt ear, lightweight. Cons: perhaps the color, but who cares these work so well.
If there is one thing my husband enjoys it is his music. We had the hardest time trying to find earphones for his Creative Zen, something that would do justice to the music. These are the ones, they deliver great sound quality and actually stay on your ear. We will be purchasing a few more of these to give to our family to enjoy.
